Just seen that Peter 'Kid Chocolate' Quillin has vacated the WBO Middleweight title instead of making a mandatory defence against no.1 contender Matt Korobov. If the WBO sanction their top two ranked contenders to fight for the vacant belt, Korobov will be going up against...Billy Joe Saunders! I didn't realise he was that highly ranked but good luck to him; great opportunity for the guy if it comes through...

fkin hell!!!! that was a hard paced fight and I have to tip my hat to martinz' grit and determination in the face of a better adversary in Frampton. barry's face didn't look too happy in the post fight talking when Frampton said he wanted one man.....quigg. I think mcgugan wants to build the fight a bit more. how big would that fight be a year from now if both of them are still champions!!!??? but with the likes of santa cruz and rigondoux around it certainly isn't a given that both will stay undefeated

Frampton is even more impressive considering he's only had 19 pro fights! I think Frampton / Quigg should happen asap, with rematches to boot, I think they're made for each other. Mcguigan said himself, as good as rigondoux is he brings nothing to the table other than being very hard to beat

Looks like there might be a bit more substance to the David Haye / USA story:

Mayweather has said he will retire after 49 fights. After Maidana rematch, he'll only have two more fights.

Struggling to get enthusiastic about the Maidana fight to be honest. While he gave a good account of himself in the first fight and probably asked more questions of Mayweather than most of his opponents, there was nothing controversial about the outcome last time around, other than maybe the one judge who scored it even, to warrant an immediate re-match. However, there are some suggestions that Mayweather is a little out of sorts at the moment, so maybe, just maybe...

...that said, think it will still be a Sky+ job for me.

Presume you're talking about the one in Canada? Didn't see it but, from what I understand, some reference was made to his rape conviction and he gave the interviewer a mouthful. Despite the level of coverage it has received, getting a volatile, psychologically troubled man to lose his rag on TV for the umpteenth time doesn't strike me as an especially noteworthy journalistic achievement, but no doubt it was exactly what the interviewer was aiming for so job done I guess...

Yeah that's the one, Nathan Downer was a prick to bring his rape conviction up, I actually thought Tyson handled it pretty well.

My guess is that, with interviews like this, questions are broadly agreed with Tyson or his agent or whatever beforehand. As such, it might very well be the case that bringing up the rape issue was 'off piste'...in which case the interviewer probably got pretty much everything he was hoping for.

Quigg looked fantastic last night. Joshua seemed to have improved his jab somewhat and looked great again. I though vassell was definitely going out in the fifth!!! What a great display of grit by both guys.

Floyd..... what can I say? ......meh. I can't really feel any sympathy for him getting bitten because he is and always has been a dirty fighter. Those elbows he sticks out when people come close are dangerous and he never seems to get pulled for it. Maidana should have displayed more control but he is wild and hot tempered. If I'd been gettibg elbows in my face all night I might give something back.....perhaps not a fking chew on his fingers though!!!

All the "T B E " talk from floyd is joke though. ... ray Robinson , Henry Armstrong and harry greb will be turning in their graves!

I thought Miadana was very poor actually had gone back from the first performance in my opinion(I know a little of it was the fact Floyd boxed a little cuter in this fight. How the hell Miadana thought he had won the fight (agressor or not is beyond me it was very crude slow agression not of the intelligent type).I think he was just glad to be there and go the distance from where I was sitting.

Floyd will certainly be remembered as the best of his era but as much as his defence and skill is to be admired he is just not exciting to watch certainly not the best ever like Gary Logan said in the studio how would he have competed with a 6ft 2 freak like Hearns who was lightning quick(especially that ram rod jab he had) and could turn your lights out with 1 shot you can run but you cant hide as they say.So who next then ? although him and pacman would be a spectacle they are both 3 or 4 years past it in my opinion but apart from Khan whos speed would make him think(Floyds accuracy and Khans chin may be the deciding factor in that one ?) there is nothing really else out there too get excited about sadly

Mayweather wants no part of khan and hasn't for a few years. Khans speed and angles would give him fits. Floyd likes to fight at his own pace and khan would tag him frequently. If maidana can land jabs (and he landed a few last night) amir would pepper him. I wouldn't worry too much about khans chin too much either as floyd hasn't got big power. However khan hits plenty of power and we've seen floyd wobbled by mosely judah cotto and maidana......

Without being too technical about it, Mayweather looks a bit too beefy for Khan IMO.

I disliked Mayweathers ego a few years ago - but fair enough 0 he deserves the respect as an athlete.

Nk offence but come on...

Khan still doing nothing at the bottom of the division waiting for a payday.

Let's stop talking him up - vs mayweather?? What has he done to suggest he is even close to on that level
