Fury v Chisora and BJS v Eubank Jr in 5 days time, can't wait!

Seen pictures of Fury with the big beard, looks like Charles Bronson
BJS vs Eubank is simmering nicely....

Does anyone know what channel the Rourke fight is broadcast on tonight? Must be shown in US somewhere?

Chisora has the look of a man resigned to losing. I had it in my head that the winner would be the guy that wanted to fight wladimir most . Ie. Chisora. ....I always felt fury was full of st about wanting the fight. But now I see them I think fury stops him in the middle rounds.

Controversial but I think eubank pulls off the upsets and looks devastating in stopping Saunders. I know on paper the opposite looks likely but I just get the feeling team eubank KNOW EXACTLY what they are doing

Agree with both your forecasts. Eubank fight could be a future classic just like a couple of his old mans bouts.

I must admit, I'm really intrigued by the Saunders-Eubank match-up. In a way, it has echoes of the first Froch-Groves fight; with Froch you knew what you were getting; with Groves you knew he had potential but no idea whether it would bear scrutiny at that level. I've read quite a lot of fight predictions over the last few days and it seems about 2/3rds-1/3rd in favour of Saunders. In a way, completely understandable. You know Saunders can compete at that level because he is at that level. He's skilful, energetic, durable and experienced (both pro and amateur)...and he's an awkward blcensoreddy southpaw as well! The only thing against him is that, so far, he hasn't shown himself to be a massive hitter...otherwise I'd fancy him to go a long long way in the sport. With Eubank, you just don't know what you're getting; never been the 12-round distance, never really been in with anyone capable of putting up a fight, never fought for any titles of note...but...but...he has something about him! He has that X-factor. He has a USP. He excites...

At this point in time though, I really don't know if he can make it work at this kind of level. Saunders won't be gifting it to him, that's for certain. He'll fight back, will make it a pig of a job for Eubank to hit him (even if that means the fight turns into a horrible scrappy affair) and won't give him a second's thinking time. That's new territory for Eubank and until he's in tht environment there's always going to be that element of doubt. However, as we saw with Groves, just because a fighter hasn't been at a certain level before doesn't mean they'll be out of their depth when they do make the step.

To be honest, I'll be routing for Eubank. No disrespect to Saunders - I think he's a very capable fighter and seems like a decent man as well. I really hope he enjoys a long and successful career...but Eubank is the one I would really love to see make it. I love seeing those special fighters in the biggest fights and, for me, as competent as Saunders is, he just doesn't quite get my pulse racing as Eubank does...

Very eloquently put my friend. I agree whole heartedly. I've got a weird feeling eubank will be some kind of eccentric oddball fighter.......but one who can back up what his old fella says!!!...... apart from the bit about beating golovkin right now!!!.....that was just batst crazy!!

Mickey Rourke "knock out"

Looks a bit odd to me......

Hoping for Fury and Saunders both to win tomorrow.

The Eubanks have something about them, not least confidence, and that tends to be contagious which colours judgement. Based on all the evidence, and provided he has trained properly, I just cannot see past Saunders. In the case of Eubank jr, this is a hell of a contender for your first truly meaningful opposition.

This is exactly the sort of rubbish that needs to be cut out in boxing, that fight was beyond fixed.

Really want to see the fight tonight but paying for another subscription is beyond a joke. The TV companies are taking the public for a ride. I already pay license fee, an extortionate SKY subscription, BT sport and also PPV for other fights and now I have to sign up for a subscription to watch some more fights?

Sport is meant for people to watch and it should be available for people to watch at a reasonable fee.I don't mind too much if they make it PPV but signing up for a subscription is taking the p***

What do boxers do after the weigh in?
Is it a case of simply resting and going over the game plan?

If they have struggled to make the weight would they spend the evening having a slap up meal?

They rehydrate and relax, most of the weight they lose to get on the scales is fluids, in the modern game quite a few will use an intravenous to get their fluid levels and electrolytes back to where they should be.

Yeah, I do get where people are coming from who object to paying additional fees to watch boxing. One of the things I miss from my youth (apart from my abs!) is the way boxing was in reach to the general populace. Showing my age a bit, but when Frank Bruno knocked out Gerry Coetzee, breaking his nose, so many people were talking about it...not just boxing fans but pretty much all my mates at primary school, the dads in the neighbourhood, etc. And that wasn't a big title fight; that was Bruno climbing the ladder. By comparison, how many people in have heard someone who isn't an out-and-out boxing fan say, "Blcensoreddy hell, that Anthony Joshua's going places...reckon he could be the next heavyweight champ". I've got plenty of mates who like their sport...a handful would recognise the name, maybe two would know how he's getting on. As much as I've hailed the significance of Froch-Groves Wembley show, I'd be stunned if the viewing audience was even a quarter the size of that for Eubank-Benn II.

However, I will defend last week's event to an extent in that at least it was 6 hours of entertainment involving fighters that were worth watching, even if there was only one really significant fight. Compare that to the Haye-Harrison PPV where the chief support was George Groves in something like his tenth fight...

That said, if you're a boxing fan, I think the BoxNation subscription deal is much more palatable. Let's say you paid up for November and tonight's show is a wash-out; Saunders and Eubank don't gel and give us 12 rounds of clinching and missed shots, while Fury bludgeons Chisora in three, like Haye did to Harrison but without the style. Well, you've still got Terence Crawford vs Ray Beltran tonight, and we've already had Pacquiao vs Algieri and Hopkins vs Kovalev this month. For serious fans of the sport, all that for £12 is pretty good, especially as chances are those last three fights just wouldn't have been available over here (other than by dodgy internet stream) if BoxNation weren't carrying them...
