pacquiao by stoppage. i truly believe that.

now, floyd will outpoint pacquiao. probably........but that element of doubt is enough to make the fight still relevant

Loving the memorabilia. Sadly I have nothing as exotic as any of that!

Felt very sorry for Rose but he did look hurt and I've no idea why he just didn't hold or take a knee. That said, the ref should have given him a little more time to see how he reacted.

As for Mayweather vs Pacquiao, I'd take a Mayweather win regardless of when they fought. The darting in and out to unload combos just wouldn't work as Mayweather would be stepping to the side and feeding him straight rights. I don't think it would ever be a cake walk though, Pacquiao would be very dangerous to Mayweather in the first 3/4 rounds (even now) as he's a very slow starter and takes a while to figure his opponent out before going to work.

Has Pacquiao stopped anyone since Hatton back in 2009? Can't help feeling this fight is more nostalgia than anything else.

Yes, Cotto. In my eyes, one of his finest wins too. He walked him down and took him apart.

Ah, so from that link it's clear that it's meant to say "Marciano is the only heavyweight world champion to complete his career undefeated."

nice banner headline to retire undefeated.........especially at heavyweight where one punch can flatten anyone!

some far more impressive unbeaten streaks though.....going into the frankie randall fight julio cesar chavez was 89-0!!!

don't forget ray robinson who never lost as an amateur and had his first pro loss to la motta where he was 40-0 going in. add that to his 85-0 amateur career and you have 125-0 !!!!!

Margarito took a very heavy beating too, could have easily stopped him.

I remember that. Margarito took one of the worst beatings I've ever seen. Great chin though to survive all those punches from Paqman.

the hiding he got from manny followed by the beating he got from cotto in the return was more punishment consecutively than i've seen a man take on the spin. there have been worse single hidings like when robinson rematched la motta in the valentines day massacre but i wouldn't be surprised if margarito has permanent physical damage after those 2 fights

Apparently Pacquiao smashed his orbital bone in their fight and as soon as Cotto saw the eye deteriorate in their rematch he went to town on it and from all accounts the eye has never been the same since.

I don't have any sympathy for him either as to my mind there is definitely an asterix next to his win against Cotto with regards to the dodgy hand wraps. It obviously can't be proven that he cheated that night but it was certainly proven that he intended to wear them against Mosley and got caught out. Definitely more than just a whiff of Panama Lewis and Luis Resto about all that...

Cotto's face was a lumpen mess after that dodgy wrapping incident, definitely some assistance there, imho.

What's more, it damaged Cotto mentally and it has taken him some years and several fights to recover. I'd go so far as to say it robbed us of seeing the very best of Cotto.
