Fantastic effort from mm. Anyone else would have lost that fight to mm easily, but my god GGG is something else. Good fight from two good guys.

I cannot recall seeing a fighter who is so focused on attacking the skull as Golovkin. Lost count of the number of shots he quite deliberately threw to Murray's forehead, high temple area and even straight to the top of Murray's head.

Credit to Martin Murray for going that long. I wanted him to last the whole 12 rounds, but respect to him.

Who's out there that could beat or give GGG a proper close fight?

True, yet GGG also showed just how effective good body shots are. He's not a one dimensional fighter GGG.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying its the primary focus of his attack by any stretch of the imagination; but I'm certain it is a very deliberate ploy, especially when you consider just how precise and measured a puncher he is.

I can't argue with that. Nothing GGG does ever appears to be anything but measured and precise. It's almost a shame many people only think of GGG as a killer puncher, when really he offers a master class in technique (and he's a killer puncher!).

At Middleweight, I think you probably saw him taking apart the next best all-round fighter in the division (I don't really count Cotto as I think his stay in the division is only temporary - pretty sure he'll move back down soon). Maybe Andy Lee with that right hand would have a puncher's chance but it would be more in hope than expectation. For a true challenge, it would either be moving up to Super-Middle and fighting Froch or Ward, or down to Light-Middle and FMJ. Of those, I think Ward is the most likely and even then chances are pretty slim. I don't know, maybe Cotto or Alvarez could give him a run for his money at Light-Middle if dropping those 6lbs took something out of his tank...

Not sure if you've seen these already but a while back a couple of youtube links were posted on here that focus on aspects of Golovkin's technique - think you'll enjoy them if you haven't:

GGG is not human. I can't see anyone giving him problems. He woukd have to move up a division to find more of a challenge, but even then he would destroy everyone.

He was stripped of his WBC belt but still retains his WBA 'Super' champion status. Unfortunately, it still looks like contractual issues are continuing to curtail his activity...tragic really; an amazing talent just going to waste.

Never seen anyone quite as relentless as Golovkin. I imagine fighting him is heartbreaking and exhausting in equal measure.

Cotto would be a good opponent imo. Certainly it needs to be someone with really damaging punching power. Not saying Cotto would win but it would be fireworks however long it lasted.

Does anyone know what Murray got paid for last night? The venue looked tiny and I can't imagine ch5's input or the Kazak ppv figures are huge, whatever it was he deserved every penny and more, he won't feel like it now but i suspect hell look back on his career and consider taking ggg 10 rounds to be a highlight.

So GGG vs Quillan, is it possible?

Awesome videos. Thanks for that, I really enjoyed watching them. You don't get taught boxing like this in the UK.

If GGG moves up, Froch doesn't have a chance. Neither does Groves. Arthur Abraham would get battered as he gets pushed back and his guard drops (which he only does when he is stationary or moving forwards).

He'll only have problems with pure boxers like Ward or Andre Dirrell.

I agree. It is a shame that his career is just wasting away.

I think it unlikely at this stage
But i think you underestimate Frochs punch power.
He will obviously get tagged as thats his nature. But hes got more chance than most of stopping GGG in his tracks.

It would be an intriguing match up, but the weight would suit Froch.
And not matter how good you are, theirs only so many wight classes you can go up. Before you dont have the natural power that weight diversion requires.

It's going take someone with a granite chin who can dish it out plus ain't scared of anyone, that's Carl Froch, I would too put Kessler in that category.
Froch would be totally up for battle with Golovkin unlike he was for Groves. Would be a tremendous scrap.....
