Can Brook really talk after just fighting Jo Jo Dan?!

This is clearly a holding fight to try and get the winner of Manny/Floyd.

Thats the thing, with Brook rusty and you would think in need of at least one more tune up fight, this was the best time for Khan to tke him on.

Instead he has chickend and lost a lot of respect amongst those that are his fans, he talks about this 'allowing the british public to have the chance to travel to New York' rolleyes Why would any Brit want to waste all that cash to see that match up.

If I understand this right, if Khan beats Algieri (which he should do) then he becomes 'mandatory' from the winner of the Mayweather/Manny fight (correct me if I'm wrong)

If this correct, then I can 'understand' why he is taking this fight.

I don't get Brook, he is sounding desperate day by day. He has the belt, is unbeaten and doesn't need Khan so why all the fuss?

There are plenty of alternatives like Thurman/Guerrero/Alexandre/Maidana that he can fight in the US and make himself more widely known.

He announced it on his wifes youtube channel which she setup to talk about how she applies her makeup... very apt.

This did make me chuckle . . . . obviously trying to increase her business profile (Khan does have his own Twitter/Instagram/Facebook and YouTube channel, so it was very strange way of announcing a fight)

Brook wants Kahn as it's his fast track to a big pay day. Any other route involves building his profile first.

Nice of Eddie to give out his bank details evil

Would be a great fight - I think my gut says Frampton would edge a high action thriller.

Eddie is in talks of having Kell Brook vs. Frankie Gavin - should be a knockout match punchpunch

Come on Eddie, where are all the big names you promised Kell will be fighting?

Is this the same guy who was saying Khan is fighting nobodies?

I’d agree it is a bit of a step-down from the likes of Marquez, who had been touted as the big summer fight for Brook should the Khan fight fail to materialise. However, it looks like Brook may well get a tough mandatory next time around as the IBF have granted Tim Bradley a final eliminator slot. On that basis, if his next fight will be against Bradley or whoever has just beaten Bradley(!), taking a slightly lower risk fight that can still generate a bit of box-office interest would seem a sensible interim step. What also works in Brook’s favour is he’s just spent the last 10 weeks preparing to face a southpaw in Jo Jo Dan, so making a fight with Gavin even less of a risk at this time...

As I mentioned previously, you can't berate someone (Brook) for chasing a money fight and applaud another guy (Khan) for losing nearly 2 years of his fighting prime by chasing Mayweather. Brook and Khan are much closer in terms of fighting ability compared to athletes such as Pacquiao or Mayweather who are a cut above the rest. It's prize fighting so I don't berate anyone trying to talk their way into a big money fight.

Back to the topic, I hope to see Brook face some tougher tests. I'd love to see him fight the likes of Maidana, Thurman, Bradley, etc..

Not desperate, the fight would be massive in all respects, it's the best fight out there for him and Khan though unfortunately Khan believes otherwise, the Mayweather fight will probably never happen for Khan and all this time will have been wasted, Brook and Khan would be a tear up and quite likely more than one fight potential

I agree. I don't think Mayweather or Pac are particularly interested in Khan.

Why wouldn't they be? They know he brings a lot of money to the table, probably more so than most fighters.

Mayweather is a businessman, he knows Khan has a huge UK following can cash in on this BUT the fight won't happen because I don't think Floyd wants to take on Khan, knowing that he can really trouble him with his hand speed.

Manny vs. Khan is a more realistic fight but don't be surprised if this doesn't happen until next year, I can already see a re-match between Floyd and Manny on the cards, regardless of who wins on May 2nd!

Khan shuns Brook to fight Algieri (a light welter with a loss on his record, admittedly to Pacman) and Brook shuns Khan by signing to fight Frankie Gavin (a light welter with a loss on his record to someone know one knows.) It's all part of the negotiation and keeping the fighters busy and focused. Kell's is a walk through, Algieri shouldn't give Khan any trouble, but you never know...
