I was wondering what Golovkin was up to. He didn't give a fk about defence! Monroe was fighting well until GGG got him in the corner and just waited for that left hook opportunity. There was never a doubt that GGG was going to get the KO, but I did wonder if he really is as easy to hit as Monroe made it look.
Roman Gonzalez on the under card was phenomenal. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

I'd watched a bit of gonzalez on YouTube when he started appearing on p4p lists but last night was the first time I'd Watched properly on a big telly......VERY special talent
Gonzalez does look tremendous, it will be interesting to see what his record is when he hangs up his gloves, I would imagine he will surpass whatever record Floyd finishes on, will he get the credit for that, definitely not, he's great to watch though.Amirhussain said:
GGG v Canelo is a fight a lot of people would want to see.
Andre Ward back in the ring finally, on the 20th of June. Few fights to get rid of rust, and I think there will be a lot of talk if a Ward v GGG fight. Now that fight everybody would want to see.
Froch-GGG rumours starting to look a little more substantial...Andre Ward back in the ring finally, on the 20th of June. Few fights to get rid of rust, and I think there will be a lot of talk if a Ward v GGG fight. Now that fight everybody would want to see.

i've actually got a hard on for this fight. fking massive event. the best chin in boxing versus what appears to be pound for pound one of the hardest punchers......http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-30...
what makes it really interesting is the weight class jump for ggg which should (in theory) equal things out a bit. win lose or draw froch must get credit here for taking on such a dangerous opponent in his final fight
Yeah absolutely. From a fan's perspective you really couldn't ask for more, though if I were Froch's advisor it's not the direction I'd like to see him go. That said, it is 100% what Froch's career has been about - by his own admission, he's probably not the best SMW, even of his era, but his willingness to continually take on the biggest challenges, to me, is his mark on the sport. Since 2008 the only opponent you could say wasn't really in his league was Jusuf Mack. Everyone else has been a proper fight. I think that's why the reception for the proposed fight with Chavez was so lukewarm. Good name, good money but, as a match-up, not really what Froch has been about...

That would end VERY badly for Froch. Possibly even permanent damage. I'd rather he retired than risk his health against GGG, at least that way he can carry on talking about that one time at Wembley in front of 80k fans....http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-30...
Froch beats Golovkin all day for me. Now I realise GGG is an awesome boxing talent with very heavy hands and at middle weight he's undoubtedly a world beater but let's face it, Geale, Rubio, Martin Murray and Matthew Macklin are not Carl Froch. Froch has been places GGG hasn't and won, he's 3 inches taller and I believe a much wiser and better boxer than people give him credit for, GGG takes shots in order to position himself and get his bombs off, he has never taken a shot moving in from a full size super middle weight of Froch's calibre. Its a no brainer for me, Froch all day long.

mmmm....martin murray is a big middleweight and if froch himself is to be listened to is 50/50 when he has sparred froch.
also, don't forget that golovkin absolutely starched light heavyweight sergey kovalev when they sparred.
i think ggg is only hitable when he allows himself to be. if he senses no danger from what's in front of him he seems less concerned about fire coming in. and that must be a phenominal chin because he's never been down amateur or pro in 383 fights. that's right 383 fights!!(only 5 losses)
i reckon a froch whitewash is a very brave pick my mate!!

Meh, sparring shmarring. I'm not going to let these facts alter my opinions.also, don't forget that golovkin absolutely starched light heavyweight sergey kovalev when they sparred.

Made me chuckle when I heard Mayweather Snr's quote on a possible match with GGG, he said "Floyd ain't gonna fight no giant"
Froch is probably my all time favourite fighter, because he absolutely loves a war, has a granite chin and probably the biggest heart I've known. He'll go toe to toe with anyone. Taking on GGG is right up his alley and if the opportunity is there I'd be surprised if he didn't take him on as a finale to his career, win or lose it would be a right old tear up!
