I think Eubank Jr beats him although it will be a big step up for him im sure he can make that jump.I think he is the sort of fighter that is able to go through the gears when he wants to.The build up will be very interesting as they both genuinly dislike each other Jr out training at Mayweathers gym to get ready for the fight.

Exactly the problem with Khan... there is always an excuse for the more exciting, challenging fights.

Okay, let’s consider what Khan has done since getting knocked out by Breidis Prescott. First, he took a tune up fight against Oisin Fagan. Then, from 2009 to 2012 he fought; Barrera, Kotelnik (won WBA belt), Salita, Malignaggi, Maidana, McCloskey, Judah (added the IBF belt), Peterson and Garcia. Pretty much a Who’s Who of the Light Welterweight division over that period, with the exception of Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander; and the chance to fight both of them disappeared as both stepped up a weight while Khan was still world champion. To me, it doesn’t really look like the CV of someone who habitually avoids the exciting, challenging fights.

So, what’s happened since then? As you correctly point out, Khan hasn’t been particularly active, and certainly his first two opponents after being KO’d by Garcia (Molina and Diaz) were of limited threat. I’m presuming you saw those two fights…? Vulnerable, wasn’t he? If so, what do you think would have happened if Khan had instead been fighting established, credible fighters in the Welterweight division? He’d almost certainly have lost, with his career down the pan to boot in all likelihood.

So, having navigated those two fights, he then took on Collazo, someone who was an established, credible fighter in the division (although not necessarily the very top tier)…and he completely dominated him. The rehab looks like it has entered its final stages and, as I said earlier, looks to have been done judiciously.

He didn't see Brook having earned the right to fight him, told Brook to get through Porter... will we see Brook vs Khan? Doubt it.

Its Khan who needs to establish his relevance. He is new to WW, he needs big names to earn the right to fight Mayweather.

Qu... does anyone really think we are going to see Mayweather vs Khan? I don't see Mayweather taking it...not because he thinks its high risk... I just dont see it

With that risk why on earth is Khan not targeting the other big dogs.
You strike me as being somewhat naive when it comes to the realities of professional boxing. Whether you like it or not, the sport doesn't work on a purely meritocratic basis. A lot of the time, it's just what makes sense that prevails. So no, Khan doesn't necessarily have to 'earn' his shot at Mayweather. The fight will be made if it makes sense to both parties and, as it goes, there are plenty of reasons why it does make sense. Just in the same way that Khan-Brook is making much more sense than it did 18 months ago.

Ali vs Tyson, both in their prime, who wins?

Ali probably. George Foreman was the Tyson of that era, and arguably Ali was already past his prime when they fought...

Useful workout for Luke Campbell there. Good to see him get a decent number of rounds under his belt and still get the stoppage against an opponent who's no mug.

That was a shut out in Groves' favour for me. Just seen the punch stats...nearly 1000 thrown by Groves...good effort!

Good to see Groves having to work for every minute of every round, including proving his stamina by going through the championship rounds. Credit to Rebrasse too for hanging in there and never looking anything but composed. If he had a dig on him, he'd be a proper handful!

Kal Yafai against Paul Butler - another one I could see happening in the next 12-24 months. So many great all-UK fights potentially in the offing smile

Cracking fight down the line that. I think it would be unfair at this early stage to chuck yafai in after so few fights but to be fair to him he pretty much said that himself in the interview.
Groves has such a great skillset it's just a shame his whiskers betray him so often. Groves with a chin is a world beater but he's still too hittable. Worrying that there was a little wobble against a bloke with so few stoppages

Yeah, Yafai is still a novice; last night was only his 11th fight. That said, Butler has only fought 16 times himself. Amazing really when you consider he's already won and vacated a world title in that time!

Found myself in the dog-house this morning...the Mrs went to bed about 10pm last night and apparently I woke her up swearing at Jim Watt's commentary!

Ha! I know the feeling.... he used to be good. Clear and concise with no agenda. Nowadays though he just doesn't seem to be watching the same fight as me most of the time!

Interestingly, I saw an interview with Eddie Hearn after one of the Abraham-Smith pressers this week where he said he was working on a deal to sign a 'big name, up-and-coming' fighter. Might be completely unconnected but one to keep an eye on...

Listening to eubanks version of events versus frank warrens version I've got to be honest..........eubank isn't coming out of this well. Given his background of sparring anyone anywhere and his talent I don't think for one minute he's bottled it...............but it does look bad!

That was a decent fight, Smith showed he deserves to be in there with those kind of fighters. Two things though:

1) Jim Watt is getting worse by the day

2) Those official scorecards were miles out. Disgusting really. I thought it was a closely contested fight.
