i'd love to see crolla pull it off..... i think buglioni is gonna come a cropper against chudinov though. fedor(not to be cofused with the other chudinov who fought eubank jr) isn't particularly skilled but fk me he's a hardcase. he just kept coming against sturm, taking everything and just kept coming

Yep there's a short interview on the 5 live website, he's essentially saying there is nothing left that motivates him. Fair enough, but Ward is back in the game, De Gale would be a big domestic event and if Groves wins his title then they could take it back to wembley etc... I suppose if those prospects don't motivate then it is time to retire.Sad I'll never see him fight again, he always had me on the edge of my seat. He can mention 'it' as many times as he wants!
he's been to the well on numerous occasions, apparently fought in front of 80,000 at wembley in britain's biggest post war gate, beaten every man he's ever faced with the exception of ward , he's sitting on a vast property empire and gets to walk away from the sport with his faculties intact.....

I'm just listening to him on Buncey's podcast from last week, he's saying Rob Mckraken is increasingly busy now with the GB team in the run up to Rio and other commitments and also Rob's dad has just passed - I can't see Froch training with anyone else so that might also be a big factor. It's also good news for Degale and Groves, one of whom could go on to multiple world titles and a huge fight with Ward.

I watched Lomonchenko on the undercard of the Mayweather/Pac fight and whilst his boxing skills, footwork and hand speed and undoubtedly out of this world I got the feeling he had no power or spite to actually hurt a well worn seasoned pro boxer (the guy he was fighting seemed there for the pay day), even though Rigondeux is smaller my initial thoughts are he'd beat up Lomenchenko quite badly.I don't know why I felt the need to make this prediction so soon, my opinion is likely to change the more "highlight reels" I see if this goes ahead!

As it happens, I think Froch does have a better resume than Calzaghe but there's not really a huge amount in it. I think Hopkins is probably the biggest name on Calzaghe's record and rightly so, closely followed by Kessler/Eubank/Lacy but Froch has Ward/Direll/Kessler/Bute/Groves/Taylor/Abraham/Pascal.
But that doesn't change my opinion that Calzaghe would have comprehensively outboxed Froch had they ever have fought.

Calzaghe- 24 (obviously won all of them)
Calzaghe also beat a prime Kessler and a Hopkins who went on to win further world titles (and impressively wasn't killed by Kovalev).
Until Froch won the title in his 24th fight (Calzaghe won his first title in his 23rd fight) Froch didn't really have many big names on his resume, Calzaghe did win the title from Eubank though.
Neither traveled much (Calzaghe less so).
It's easier to remember Froch's opponents as 'better' as they are more recent, but in terms of big names Calzaghe did beat Eubank (on the decline, but nonetheless a major scalp), Lacy, Hopkins and Jones Jr (Lacy in the UK, other two in the US of A).
Froch's big names are Ward (but lost), Taylor (heroic battle there), Bute, Abraham and Kessler (not in his prime, but neither was Froch).
Froch really does need to stop droning on about Calzaghe, and just bloody retire gracefully. They were at different stages of their career.

Watching Hagler v Hearns on YouTube, way before my time, but what a fight, even if it was 'only' just over 2 rounds. Them 2 rounds had more action, thrill and excitement than 12 rounds of Paqman-Mayweather
