Bengals opened a large can of whupp-ass on Cleveland yesterday, but the Steelers did the same to Indianapolis last night - and we face the Steelers again next weekend. We need Eifert back for that one and for the remaining schedule, which includes Denver at Mile High.
Got to keep the pressure on. Who Dey!

I can see the Bengals losing to the Steelers and then tripping up in Denver. Broncos go one, the chosen people go 2, Steelers beat the Broncos in the divisional round and the path to the promised land goes through the theatre of excellence where a revitalized Pats with Gronk, Julian and Hightower all fit march onwards.Got to keep the pressure on. Nobody cares what you can see, Cheatriot. JustinF said:
We've allowed fewer than 10 points in 5 of the last 6, Steelers are coming back down to reality with a thump next Sunday.
I like your optimism and positive attitude Justin. Despite being a fellow Bengals fan, I'm not as confident. Steelers and Denver will be very tough for us. Still - we got our mojo back after Texans/Cards lapses, so who (dey) knows.....Matt Harper said:

Nobody cares what you can see, Cheatriot. Pats D was awesome tonight, absolutely brilliant especially given all the injuries. Great all round performance from everyone. The path to the Super Bowl will go through New England.

Just watched some condensed Jaguars. They look pretty explosive right now on both sides of the ball, I was thinking if only they started this before their season ended, then checked the standings, to see they have a good shot still of grabbing their division! The twists and turns.
I had to suffer through the whole game. The Jags weren't that good but the Colts were simply awful. They basically gave up in the second half. Pagano is dead man walking and will be done the second they either fail to make the playoffs or go 1 and done. I'd wager if they lose at home to Houston Sunday he'll be fired Monday. The local press and radio media here in Indy is after him and Grigson. The only question is whether Irsay fires them both or just Pagano. I think in all honesty the Colts could get to the Super Bowl and Pagano would still lose his job.Well my prediction bit me in the arse alright, easy to underestimate how a quarterback staying healthy affects both sides of the ball.
Our strength this year has been converting 3rd and even 4th downs on offense and red zone defense (even to the point of allowing yardage on downfield plays until we can compress the space in front of the secondary and control the options)
Those failed 3rd down conversions cost us not just field position but time of possession and that wears even the most competent D down.
Still our fate is in our own hands...

What you guys are talking about is my biggest annoyance with American Football. I do love it, but the fact that when you get to the crunch time of a season and the best chance of a team winning is how many of their good players are still able to play is a pretty strange situation.
True of any sport though, even Motorsport too. Those who have a deep team and more luck, have more chance.

Well if Brady went down, (as in injured, not on Donald Trump..) his replacement would not win many games either, hopefully Dalton heals quick and gives the Bengals the chance they have earned throughout the season
Cowboys are proof of this unfortunatelyRemember Matt Cassel didn't do too badly when he stepped in for Brady - enough to earn him a good contract from the Chiefs. His current performance as the backup with the Cowboys suggests to me that Romo carries his team more than Brady has to..and it as much about how the rest of the offense adapts.

But also it's the sheer volume of players that are out consistently.

This season we've lost Lewis, Solder, Blount, Easley, Flowers and Dobson to injured reserve, Le Fell, Stork and Edelman to injured reserve designated to return and have had significant injuries to Gronkowski, Amendola, Collins, Sheard and Hightower. All were starters except Flowers, Dobson and Sheard. So players signed off the street a few days before have been starting games. But hey, we're number 1 seed. Because the coach is a genius and has a system that just deals with it.
Do your job.
