Go Chargers! Not a huge fan of the game, but I keep an eye out for them as I have relations in San Diego.

On Sky tomorrow we have the Giants hosting Panthers then 49ers at Seahawks.
49ers should get the win, the first game will probably be a little closer.

Used to have that back when it was NASN, is pardon the interruption still a good show? last I saw Tony Kornheiser was getting quite keen on himself.

I am indeed planning to watch this year.. after playing in here in the UK (BAFACL for those that know) for too many years I am now 'retired' to spend more time watching it and shouting at the TV.. bring on the beer and snacks.

go niners.. (I am nothing if not optimistic)

Also I hope they bring back the snorting channel4 logo thing, it will be like the 80's again smile

Me too. I used to play too back in the 80's/early 90s - best sport I've ever taken part in; varied, technical, fast (apart from the breaks!) and adrenaline fuelled.

I remember it so well from when channel 4 broke it here, the glory days of Montana, Marino, Payton, Taylor and co. Happy days. I even used to import the official NFL mag back then, not a bad read.

The America's Game series mentioned was brilliant too - such a good authentic feel to it and really moving at times.

Did you two manage to not break anything? I used to play some running back and was lucky enough to just have pulled muscles and bruises.

I played Offensive Tackle - no breaks but used to crawl into the bath and soak for hours that night. Generally found it hard to move around the next day. The worst thing for me was having someone run over the back of my neck once when I was down!

Another really accurate prediction from me. laugh
I did think the 49ers would be strong by now under Mike Singletary, maybe he isn't the man for the job.

I remember watching him play linebacker in the legendary Bears of the 80s! Fantastic player and fantastic team, what a defence they had.

That was the first superbowl I watched, the 85 Bears, sweetness should have got his touchdown, RIP Walter Payton.

Well I played my last game a few weeks back, I broke my middle finger and snapped the tendon in the one next to it.. I am currently sporting a nice 'cast' type thing on my left hand but I played kitted for 17 years so my list of breaks is huge.. Highlights include dislocated fingers, dislocated hip, torn ACL and MCL and two really good concussions.

I played linebacker most of the time for the Newport Pagnel Panthers, Beds Huskers, London Blitz and then the Chiltern/Watford Cheetahs. In my time I even managed to train alongside the New Orleans Saints and the highlight of my life was running a 40yd sprint alongside the late great Sam Mills... (I was a promising youth player at the time.. but the injuries put paid to that)

I have hung up my kit now as the body is too old and broken. I am being hounded to get back for one more year but I really am past it.

I am spending my time now watching and swearing at the TV.

Are any of you guys going to wembley?

Ouch, I always felt sorry for those poor guys in a cast, got to be as dangerous as hobbies get.
As for swearing at the TV, plenty of that as the Jets have no offence at all. irked

I went to the giants game the other year, was great to see a proper game after going to several pre-season ones.
