LPM 83W? According to the Essex database it's in storage but I'm sure Steve T will be along soon to give an update if there is one. It appears not to have been taxed since Feb 1993.
Of no use to you but I have Essex No.11 - close but no cigar..

Thanks Bazza for the info.
I'm in contact with Steve and he has told me that the car has been in storage for years, with nothing being done to it.
I was hoping that this owner is a member of this forum and would kindly take a few, or has some before it was put into mothballs, as I haven't any photos of the car and would like a reminder of it.
I also hope that someone has my other long lost turbo, see topic "where is it now", again I have only two outside photos of it, and would like some others.
I believe Steve's car is for sale, but even if I could afford it I couldn't get it into my new home Peru, as its RHD.
The prices have greatly increased since I paid nineteen grand for it when it was 5/6 months old in 1980.

List price was £21k in 1980. Slightly MORE than a Ferrari 308.
Still, £80k or so looks like an absolute bargain compared to what they charge for a 458 with a few options these days. Most of the recent cars out there well past £200k.
The whole 'super car' price inflation happened without a squeak from any of the car mags. I still think anything over £100k is way to much to spend on a car. In fun terms the return on the investment diminishes dramatically beyond that. The new McLaren LT675 is pushing £300k!

Agreed. The law of diminishing returns sets in pretty savagely once you head towards £100k.Great documentary... and this portion covers the Essex saga.

Makes the version even more enigmatic in my opinion, all interwoven in the unravelling Chapman dealings.

To find out about No.13 the best person to ask is Steve (Essex 004) who posted pics here already - he looks after the Essex resister.
They don't come up for sale very often. I think mark at Stocks Coachworks had a LHD Essex lookalike (one of two US Essex copies) for sale a few months back.
Values appear to start at around £50k depending on the condition.

Did those ever exist or has that car been faked up to match this old rendering?
Interior colour appears right for an Essex, although to my eye looks horribly wrong with the black & gold. Exterior would look better if the logos were completed.
The text at lower right of picture says, "Lotus has always been keen on 'limited edition' models, and in the past these have often reflected the F1 team's racing success. The first Turbo Esprits were in the lurid livery of Essex Petroleum, but this rendering shows how a John Player turbo might have looked."
The book is about £20 on Amazon
