Aargh. I'm having to sell my beloved GT3. After ten years of ownership and no expense spared on keeping it tip top!

Gutted!

Nick
I've seen your car when its been at GST. An absolute peach of a car. I'd buy it in a heart beat but for the number of toys I have already.

Hmm, I'm guessing it's the blue one in the calssifieds!? It looks lovely.
I've been browsing the classifieds as an Esprit has been on the 'wanted list' for a long while!!!
I don't really know too much about them, but I'm having a massive dilemma as to what car to buy next...???
I recently sold my Monaro VXR and have been looking at all sorts, but I keep coming back to the Esprit... I do like them!!! biggrin

Hi,

Mine is the silver GT3 which I put up yesterday.

It is a good one and so it should be after all the money I've spent on it!

If you keep coming back to the Esprit, then you should get one or spend the rest of your life regretting it.

Speak to Gerald at GST Performance. He will tell you all about them. Mine will be at his workshops from Friday . Take a look .

I'm also in Fareham and have a GT3, sort of modified. If you want a taster then let's hook up so you can take a look/drive wink

Just Googled GST and it is over 3 hours away from me... I'm near Portsmouth. They certainly look like they have a good set up there!
I used to have an S2 Elise and I took it to some little Lotus specialist in the back of beyond in West Sussex off of the A27??? Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.
With the Esprit, it's the amount of new engines and rebuilds that has worried me. I've had all of this before with a TVR Tamora and it spoilt the fun quite a bit.
I was looking at a V8 Esprit before and then did a massive U-Turn and ended up with the Monaro for some reliable V8 hooligan fun. Well, I've ticked the V8 box now, but I wouldn't rule out a V8 Esprit if a nice one cropped up.

Hi Ben, wavey

I remember when you used to have your TVR T350 when I had my Tam.
That would be awesome to check out your GT3. Think I've missed you at most of the pub club meets this year.

Every third Sunday morning of the month, there's a small informal gathering of Lotus owners and their cars up road at Newlands Corner near Guildford. Google Map clicky
Whizz on up the A3 and grab a bacon roll with the boys and girls who attend. They'll always be more than happy to bore you to tears chat away and divulge any info or tidbits about the Esprit.

Well as far as my experience with Esprits goes, the engine has been the most reliable part of the car. It's usually some other part that goes wrong. Something very silly like a spring snapping in the clutch slave unit etc etc.

Oh my alternator did melt once. I had the last GT3 one off the factory shelf. Phew!

Did you find an Esprit you like?

My GT3 is definitely worth the journey. You will not be disappointed.
