There are quite a few.
You will probably get a better response on the Scotland section of The Lotus Forums.

That's useful thanks. Just registered.

I'm looking for real world stories to dissuade me from spending money......

Haha, I can't help you there. I don't own one now, but have had an S3 Turbo, a GT3 and (briefly) a V8 GT. Funny thing was that none of them cost me anything other than normal running costs and I sold both the GT3 and the S3 Turbo for more than I paid for them.

On that basis, it's probably true that 3 other folk have had Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious and I was just lucky. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with another Giugiario Turbo Esprit at some point tho.

There's a smattering of Esprits in Scotland, including the very first one and almost the very last and most models in between. I doubt we will be able to dissuade you though. Quite the opposite in fact. You'll find a few of us have taken prospective buyers out - me included - which results in frantic searches, bidding, selling kidneys etc. In my case he had ever been in one and fancied a four cylinder, probably a GT3, but after a ride with me he upped his budget and bought a V8 a few weeks later. A very happy man.

Joining the regional group on TLF is a good start - we meet the first Sunday of every month somewhere interesting. You'll find a couple of us in the Supercar Paddock at Knockhill next Sunday, the 21st at the Armed Forces Appreciation Day -

There will be several Esprits at the Alford Speedfest on 5th July, I'll be doing passenger rides.......
