A bit of an odd one, what sort of price would you be looking at for an 1986, 80,000 mile S3? I'm unsure of the history of the vehicle or current condition, but it was completely reupholstered 6 years ago and it was resprayed completely about 10 years ago. What sort of price for poor, average and good condition?

I bought an A-plate (1983/4) S3 in 2004 for two grand and sold it for about £2250 in 2006.
Last I saw (a couple of years back) it had been bare shell resprayed, retrimmed and was up for £8995 in Northern Ireland.
So in theory scruffy ones should still be a couple of grand, if anyone finds one let me know, I'll have it biggrin

I'd pitch it a bit wider than that.

You should be able to get a scruffy runner for £5000. But it would be a horrible money pit.

And if a perfect sub 30,000 mile NA HC came onto the market, then I don't think that £25k would be out of the question.

In the current marketplace, there are plenty of buyers who have their names down with classic Lotus specialists.

Quite a few of the better cars are bought and sold without ever being advertised.
