Hello, good evening and welcome - I will take that challenge.Had a bit of rummage arround and found some from my sprinting days, I reckon '86 or so.
I used to do the ACSMC events, not sure if anyone else on here did those too?
Lining up waiting to go out.
Another general shot.
Unfortunately my lasting memories of Goodwood in those days includes stuffing my Lotus 7, I will get those pictures up in a bit
Yes there didn't seem to be an event go by without an incident of one sort or another, I crashed at the chicane, as did my mate a few months earlier - his Midget is the red one with the patched up rear wing.
A friend of ours came along to watch me compete and had his new camera with a motordrive, so I was presented with the whole crash sequence frame by frame when they were developed
It's OK looking back now, but I was fairly gutted at the time as you can imagine.

I remember an open track day in the late 1980's I think, full of porsches, ferrari's etc..when a chap in a Cavalier 1.6L (chrome hubcaps) turned up with his wife and family in it. He paid his money and then went out round the circuit. I believe he didn't even do one lap before going straight off at the Woodcote into the grass bank (no tyres in those days) He had crunched it pretty bad but reversed out, drove to the pits and out of the circuit not stopping for anybody…most bizarre track visit ever.
great to see some more photos keep em coming

I entered a sprint and had engine problems with Lotus about a week before, I had session booked on the rolling road but that was after the sprint, so I just called up the club and changed my entry from Modified Roadgoing to Production Car and did it in my company car. I managed a second place in a repmobile Cavalier SRi 130 - I was pretty chuffed with that, I doubt my company would been though...
As there used to be the occasional write up in Motoring news and my MD's secretary used to read it, I took the precaution of removing the numberplates just in case. The bloke who beat me came up to me afterwards and said "I was watching your times closely, if you had beaten me I was going to contest the result as you have lightened your car which is against the rules"
So much for friendly club level motorsport
