Scanned from Fujichrome Colour Silde. A Mclaren M8 (I think) CanAm car. Running at Goodwood circa May 1994, some 20 years ago. The actual process date on the slide mount is 6/5/94.

This is a terrific thread (obviously!)
Would any posters like to send us images for a homepage article on the new Goodwood Road & Racing website? We're really interested in collating any historic/period images as our own archives are pretty thin.

Its just a lot of people didnt realise that the circuit had nothing done to it for years after racing stopped, I had some old photo's and I remember plenty of others taking photos at the club events.
Your site look great as well and I have visited it already.

Either an M8D or M8F by my reckoning. Rather poignantly, it was an M8D that Bruce McLaren was driving at Goodwood when he was killed. 2014-05-03_0001 by Robert Clayson, on Flickr

This thread is bloody awesome anyway - please keep the photos coming. Sorry I have nothing to contribute!
Love these images of Goodwood before all the big barriers and even the garages in the car park!
It would have also been the sort of time this photo was taken I think he had a TVR Chimaera as his company car! Apparently they didn't mind him doing a few laps of the circuit during his lunch break! How things have changed now!

This made me laugh - I can remember when I was very young my Great Uncle giving my family and I pit passes for the revival - He worked (actually, he still does) for Cega and gave us a tour of their planes. I'm told Ronnie Wood and another member of the 'Stones were hanging around outside apparently quite drunk It would have also been the sort of time this photo was taken I think he had a TVR Chimaera as his company car! Talking of "lunch breaks" I remember one at a sprint there in the 80's, this bloke rides in on some super fast Looking motorbike, just poodles through the paddock and onto the track, does 2 Fast and noisy laps then rides out of the circuit again, nobody appeared to know who he was
Looking at the pics above of the lairy looking Opel Kadett I am fairly certain it had a Rover V8 in it.

With Super Charger and Nitrous I think .It felt like the whole track was vibrating when it use to launch of the line.
