Good show old chap!

And while we're on the subject of uniforms here's one of me with the old Hurricane.

Having put some effort a few years ago into making up a reasonably accurate RAF Sqn Ldr's uniform I know how much effort goes into getting these correct. I know nothing about German uniforms and stuff but to me that looks pretty accurate. Are you one of those re-enactor chaps?
I'm not a re-enactor, but I've tried to put together an accurate uniform. It's based on a Luftwaffe bomber pilot who had probably seen a fair amount of action on the Eastern front then over Europe, hence the Iron Cross 1st & 2nd class and the Knights Cross. The rank is 'unteroffizier' which can be likened to Sargeant in some ways and denotes the class concious German military which made transition from NCO to officer very difficult despite the numerous awards received.

Interesting; I originally wore a DFC, DSM, Croix de Geuure & Bar with a 'Flying Boot' but was told it was 'not the done thing' to wear imaginary medals so in the pic below I am wearing my Dad's medals from his WWII service in North Africa. Inappropriate for an RAF uniform but at least no one could complain!

Ah, good to know. It's a good look you've achieved there.
