Quick question though, does anyone know what happened to the 767B that was meant to be attending?
I would guess it is still been rebuilt,
quote from the groupc site "The car is being prepared by Chamberlain Synergy Motorsport, who have prepared the title-winning Group C cars for the past three seasons, and is currently undergoing a full rebuild and safety check".

Due to race at spa ! ..maybe we may see the car race at silverstone classic ?! smile

I was very tempted by this, but it would have been pricey for us as it would have been a family day out, unless I could have managed to a sneek out of the house for a few hours!

What I wanted to know is how much is GRRC club membership? I've seen that you have to apply to a waiting list and then a member of the marketing team will be in touch! But I don't want the embarrassment of saying sorry I can't afford it! Is it a case of 'If you need to know the price you can't afford it?'

This year the membership fee is £200 - there is also a joining fee which I cannot recall, maybe in the region of £150?

Thanks for that.

Intake of breath!...well I obviously did need to know the price! I've also never understood joining fee's! Why should I pay to have my name added to a mailing list?

Think I'll stick to the odd Breakfast, Festival and Revival attendance instead!

you only pay the joining fee when you join the club, not when you join the waiting list.. the wait is currently around 3-5 years.. you might win the lottery in that time!! so, its free to join the waiting list and theres no obligation to join when you're invited... what have you got to loose??

James, the three to five years waiting time is not true. As I know people who have put their names onto the waiting list and have been invited within a few weeks. About two or three years ago, I put my name on the waiting list to see how long it would take for me to be invited to join. I put my name on the waiting list at the end of January/beginning of February. I was invited to join in March. I know you run the club. But the three to five years is wrong.......

Things have changed a lot in the past 3 years.. We now have nearly 5,000 people on the waiting list and retention of Members is at an all time high.. Around 97% ! We think it's because of the Members' meeting. Until january this year, we would always quote around 18-24 months but things have changed considerably since then.. Probably due to the Members' Meeting. It's always a prediction and sometimes it's not right... There are many variables which are too dull to go into here but I find it very odd that you were offered a place in a couple of months... Maybe it was an offer from another time you put yourself on the list??

Wow! On those figures if everyone took up their offer of membership the waiting time would be over 30 years; clearly the take-up proportion is lower than the retention rate. I suspect the number on the waiting list would be lower if the fees were published more widely (although it would make no difference to the waiting time).

Just joined the waiting list this morning James smile

My father has been a member pretty much from the beginning, will be interesting to see how far down the list I am!

I was a member years ago but chucked it in as a protest as the predecessors werent running it very well, now it is run beautifully and how it should have been from day one. (major sucking up here)
Biggest regret was chucking it in but heh I am a man of principle and not being taken advantage of at the time. (sad face sympathy)
I am now on the waiting list for about 1 year to rejoin, dont see it happening too soon although was asked if I wanted to go to 72nd meeting but sadly,as posted earlier I was working.
