The renewal date always used to be January 31st, and the latest newsletter/ news sheet received today reiterates this, but other letters from GRRC recently say Dec31st . Am doing mine anyway today but some may be caught out if it is tomorrow.

Only way you can renew tomorrow will be on-line.

I always remember 31st of January as the cut-off but there is a draw for those renewing before the end of the year.

Hi All,

Memebrship has always run from 01 January until 31 December. In the very early years, before the Club was full, there was never a cut-off date to renew as we did not have to invite new people (from the waiting list) to join. Since the waiting list has been in place (around 12-13 years), we have advised all Members to renew no later than 31 December in order to guaruntee their place as new invitations need to be sent as early as possible to allow our new Members a full year of Membership. Each year we keep a few places by for those who forget but not many..

Hope that helps,
J

One always feels as a rank and file GRRC member, that there is a "club" within the club - the 'haves' who do the balls and the incredible trips, and the 'have nots' who just about afford the membership fee, amongst whom there are probably quite a number of what certain people would call plebs!

Please, let's not start this 'club within a club' thing again.. You have just described normal life.. There will always be differences between peoples ability to do things - same as there are some people who can afford Ferraris and Porsches and others who can't... Everyone pays the same fee for the same benefits and opportunities. There is only one club... honest!

Happy New Year by the way... smile

Agree 100%!
Have been a member for a few years and despite not being able to attend many of the events or any of the trips I could not imagine not continuing my membership each year.

I would love to be able to go on some of the events that the club puts on but will rarely be in a position to do so but equally I wish Goodwood was not quite so far away so that I could make the club nights at the Kennels - something any member could afford.

There will always be some people who will be in a position to get the most out of the club (or any club) but this could be due to location or spare time not just there financial position.

Typical, got a letter in this mornings post with offer to join GRRC. just booked my flights and hotel to go to Essen Techno Classica the weekend of the 72nd meeting.
How much discount do you get for FOS and Revival tickets?

Thanks for that, not sure what to do. £375 is a lot of money when I'm not able to go to the members meeting this year and will also be away for the revival.

Do it. I made that mistake 7 years ago and now I've been waiting 3/4 years and still 1000th on the list.

If it were me I would say join but it is a lot of money and to be honest any discounts you get are not reason enough to join. I look at them as an additional bonus.

I know what your both saying but just can't justify £375 just to make sure I'm a member for next year.
What a pain, I wonder how long it'll be before I get the opportunity to join again frown
