Can anyone give me an idea of the waiting period once registered as interested in joining and what the current fees might be.
Thanks

I've been waiting around 3 maybe 4 years I think after turning down GRRC membership in 2007 due to not being able to use any of the benefits that year I now regret it as I'm about 1300th on the waiting list.

I don't mind waiting I just kick myself for ever turning it down first time round.

Fees were mentioned in this topic: Grrc membership. For 2014 it's £200 membership fee, plus the joining fee of £175.

At the end of last year there were apparently 4000 on the waiting list.

It all depends when you join/joined the waiting list.. If you're not already on it - could be up to 5 years now..! Chop Chop...! Fees posted above are correct for 2014.

Does anyone know the current waiting time?

I’ve only been on the list a year or so, but would like to have some idea about when I might glimpse some light at the end of the tunnel!

I’m happily attending events (72 & 73 Members Meetings, FoS and Revival etc) but am also looking forward to some of the other benefits…

I believe the introduction of the members meeting slowed the waiting list down to around a 5year wait the last I heard. However the list can jump quite a lot as people forget they registered and are no longer interested or cannot justify the cost so turn down the invite so it can suddenly jump quite a few people.

However the GRRC are looking to expand the membership although this has not gone down well with current members (but no doubt our views will be ignored) so you may find that wait reduced come next year if they implement the changes.

Just out of interest, why would current GRRC members be offended if the member number was increased?

The 73rd members meet took ages to sell all the 20,000 tickets, and you all still moaned when the tickets were offered to the general public to fill the allocation !

Surely if the current number of GRRC members is not sufficient to be able to soley make these kinds of events "GRRC Members Only" perhaps it's a good idea to increase the number of members?

And yes, I am on the waiting list smile

A boy with tattoos wanting to join my club!! I'll put a stop to that.

Whilst the members meet has struggled to get the numbers required by Goodwood to be fully exclusive to the GRRC the issue current members have is the current members areas at FOS and the revival are overcrowded, as are a lot of the other member benefits, for instance a tour of the rolls Royce factory was filled in around an hour of the office opening so for those not quick off the mark or at work when the post arrived missed out. Adding more people to the club will only increase this issue.

Fear not, the tattoos are covered by a shirt and tie thumbup

Perhaps if the members number is increased, the GRRC should/will increase area's at FOS/Revival etc?

As for bespoke tours etc, even if 5000 is too many now, another 1000 odd isn't going to be much worse?

I'm a member of the Lloyds of London Motor Club and we have the same problem and our membership is no where near 5000 !!
