So the dates are out for 2014, quite a late start this year though despite how busy march was last year.

May 04 - Supercar Sunday

June 01 - Soft top Sunday

August 03 - Thoroughbred Sunday

October 05 - Hot hatch Sunday

November 02 - Vee-Power Sunday

That's 1 less than last year frown

Gutted. Just gutted especially reading that March & Tax Free Sunday has been axed because they can't be bothered to give us a breakfast club before they prepare for this 72nd Members meet that they're doing in late March.

Plus you have the PH Sunday service in December usually. They used to start in march. However there are other great free events at the motor circuit, like the saywell track days.

The Sunday Service is only on because they cancelled the December breakfast clubs though.

Hot hatch - tick
Vee power - tick

Always nice when you can show off something you own!
A shame they've cut down on the amount of Sunday's though.

A real shame the members meet has wiped out a really good first event of the year for quite a few of us , would it have been so hard for us to fit in and around the incoming setup ?

Yes I agree, I've always enjoyed the March event as good start to the year and I can't really understand why it has been cancelled.

The Goodwood website says this:

There are no meets in April, July and September because of the proximity to, respectively, the 72nd Members’ Meeting (29-30 March), the Festival of Speed (26-29 June) and the Goodwood Revival (12-14 September).

No mention as to why there is no March event.

They used to do double events in June and August to make up for it.

I for one would gladly pay an entry fee to be on the hallowed tarmac for the day , they could try that if they need the income , not enough people using the catering and club shop to make it viable ? then give us another option please ?

Isn't it annoying that the build for a motor racing event at a race track gets in the way of a free Sunday morning out. frown

What is this event anyway? I'm assuming it's the 72nd time it's happened but I've never heard mention of it in previous years.

Exactly, it's the 72nd member's race meeting, picking up from where they left off prior to the closure of the circuit in the '60s.

OK but that's not what the Goodwood announcement says, it only mentions April - which makes sense as the Members' Meeting is 29-30 March.

You may be right that March as well as April is effected, but the FoS and the Revival only take out one Breakfast Club each and they are much larger events.

Maybe a lone voice here, but was really disappointed to see that Sushi Sunday is not on the list this year. Last year's was extremely well attended. Maybe we'll get it back in 2015! rolleyes
