Blimey, you drove all the way from Essex and left after two minutes! It really wasn't t that bad, okay the grid was heaving but I guess you could not have even made it that far?

The "other GTR" is/was Nick Mason's - but it wasn't him driving it. Chap looked a bit too old to be his son so presumably either a friend or a new owner...

Yes, afraid so......left home at 04:30 for a 90 minute drive to Guildford Cathedral where there were three cars.....how times have changed !!

In truth whenever i go to anything like this its really more about the drive than the meet or whatever is at the end.Although i love driving the roads of my local counties in the early hours i also love a Hoon across the South Downs with the drop down from Petworth being one of the highlights....unfortunately this morning i got stuck behind a convoy of sports cars that would not overtake a van that was holding us up despite plenty of safe opportunities so sadly we crawled that last section so i didn't exactly arrive in the best of moods lol....... no toys out the pram though as thats just the way it goes smile
It strikes me that in the past these breakfast meets were predominantly petrolheads bringing their toys out for some mutual appreciation with other petrolheads but today there seemed to be a hell of a lot of Supercar tourists in the car park with their mpv's frown Absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be there as its a free for all event.....but personally, i'd prefer it if they buggered off to the beach or something for the day lol wink
Hopefully if things continue in this way some new low key breakaway events might start to crop up where we can get back to the way things were in the days of old......by petrolheads, for petrolheads and less of the masses biggrin

The Lark F1 was formerly owned by Ralf Schumacher was it not?

What a great morning. Fantastic selection of cars and good weather to boot. Very well organised too. Thanks to the marshals.

Not as far as I am aware - he raced it for sure, but as for him owning it?.....

Definitely an enjoyable morning. It was busy but I'm used to that now, and the cars make up for it.

I beg to disagree.
I like it the way it is.
We have other events where it is boys, toys, and more boys(!)...
This one is different. The setting is different - old heritage. I even took the other half along which I wouldn't do to a 'boys' gathering as she finds those a bore.
It is nice to see the general public....and Goodwood brings a good mix...not just riff raff and not just snobs.

...and come, we all know what Supercar Sunday is like. Get up really early, hope not to get caught behind a caravan, queue to get in...crowds, have a nice drive back...etc

It was a lovely morning. I must have been lucky with the timing (arrived 8am) as I got no caravans today and only queued for 10-15 mins. thumbup

It's the expression "Super car" that draws them out.

Crazy crazy morning! Not helped by the fact i was late! (Blame the people who took me. My famiily! They wanted me to wait till 7:40am to leave home & we finally arrived around 9am!)

There were so many supercars there from Jaguar F-Type's to 2 McLaren F1's! Shame i didn't see around half of them, but i still took a huge number of them regardless, admired a few & took quite a few pics too.

I also sat in a Rolls Royce & met up with the Shmee & saw his 12C in person for the 1st time.

In all, great morning but, could have done being earlier & perhaps enjoy it more then i did.

Still pics to come in a few hours.

And that's part of the problem, supercar is such a hard thing to define but I'd certainly just consider a Jag as a sports car.

Plus all 911s (except the 959).

Indeed and Jags and Porsches are fine cars but not 'supercars'... Indeed apart from perhaps the Vanquish I wouldn't consider Astons either.

Too many Porsches for my liking. Plus once you have seen one Ferrari you have seen them all...... I have to say the Supercar Breakfast club is my least favourite of the breakfast clubs. As I am not a great fan of modern cars. It was also far to busy for my liking.

Here is the link to my Flickr set of photos. Photographs were taken on my mobile. As I am still sorting out and labelling up the ones I took on my large camera.
