What did the La Ferrari sound like? Was it a gentle ride up or totally wrung out?

Also how did it compare against the noise from the P1?

Of the Supercars only the McLaren F1 GTR was really pressing on when I was there (and boy was it, insanely fast), at, er, 'fast road' speeds there was not much to choose between the new boys, but still nothing that comes close to the LFA in my opinion (which was also on the hill, and even at half throttle it sounded glorious)

Cracking pics there sir, any tips how to blur so well to show since of speed? I tried today but not half as good as yours.

Oh I was using a 55-300 Nikon VR lens with a D60

LaFerrari sounded better than the 918 and P1, in my opinion. As said above though, the LFA still sounds incredible!

As did the 458 Speciale and the one-off 512TR

Lens/body doesn't really matter with panning, it's all about technique (people often don't believe this, so here is a recent effort with a £300 camera/lens combo). First of all, make sure VR is turned off, make sure AF is in AF-C mode, Shutter Priority, try 1/160 for starters, pan very smoothly, tracking the car as early as possible, hit the shutter release and 'follow through' with your pan i.e. one smooth motion. Forget spraying a load of shots, just aim for one shot in the middle of your panning motion.

Mine were at 1/30 but that takes serious practice, if you can nail 1/160 try 1/100, that should give you some good blur for fast moving stuff. There are no shortcuts, it's all about practice and getting a feel for it, even throwing money at it makes no difference!

Agreed with the remark about go for the one hit rather than machine gunning them . Timing is all.

My camera would not focus on the time attack GT-R, lots of nearly in-focus pictures of it, the camo is obviously working!

Has anyone got close ups of the Typhoon from Friday?

Saw it in action on Friday for the first time, thought it was superb.

I was a bit "underwhelmed" TBH. Certainly sounded better than the P1 and 918 but nothing as viceral as an Aventador, 360CS or even an F Type V8 TBH. This brings me to another thought - there are so many "Supercars" in this day and age and it's diluting them all slightly IMO

I wonder how many modern "Supercars" would have been available to display in the early to mid 70's?

I was quite surprised how much bigger the Alfieri was in the flesh compared with earlier photos which suggested something nearer 4200 than MC12 (!)
I have it on good authority that the production car will be somewhat smaller than this concept.
