Why does the front of the nose look wrong? Or if not wrong, different?
No bumper - no top of wing side lights?
Yeah, and the grill is obviously different too. Is it a lightweight racer or something?

I guess so. Did you have your DB there today? There were a couple and at least one was in red I think.

No, I planned on attending but didn't make it. No excuses, too lazy to get up at 6am. frown

Fair enough - it is the day of rest after all. I left Reading at 7.30 and got there about 8.50. There were still show cars arriving when I left at 10:30.

That, and the fact I was at Burghley last weekend with the Aston gathering and I've put quite a lot of miles on it lately and I must, must, must get round to changing the oil and filter before I drive it any more biglaugh

Goodwood never have a Theme that suites the VXR8, I have one and in my mind it's a Supercar and a Thoroughbred all rolled into one, but not in everyone's eye.

I think a good Theme for the Goodwood B/Club would be "Cars with over 500BHP", now that would be a good one in my view and can you just imagine what a spread of cars that would turn up.

Can't see that happening though, but think ear defenders would be a must if it did.

Had a great day yesterday at the Pre-66 event in my little Mini. Very chilled out and relaxed morning with some great cars in attendance and nice talking to people with stories of these cars from "back in the day". Nice to see Lord March also wandering around his back garden as it were smile

Personally I think "4-door Sunday" or "Super Saloon Sunday" would be a better theme, but anyway at least you boys have V-power Sunday coming up so stop ya moaning wink

Zero proper vetting of cars to be Pre-66. I'd say a fifth of the ones on the circuit were much later or Modern! I counted at least 6 Bloody kitcar Cobra's...........!

Main thing for me was the blast down and back though smile

Like I said before always a few entries that raise eyebrows! Looks like another good event though.

laugh

I can see the forum discussions now as to validity of bhp claims, bonnet up or down, RWHP or FWHP, Dynojet or MaHa, cooling fan not big enough, my clutch was slipping, temp sender was in a cup of tea etc etc hehe

We popped down from north Essex, an early 5.30 start and a decent drive down on very quiet roads.
These breakfast events remind me of the early FoS events as opposed as to what it has become.
A great array of cars, fantastic weather and a cooked breakfast to boot, surely days do not get better than yesterday.

Better late then never.

Really enjoyed Thoroughbred Sunday & was delighted to see not one, but 3 examples of one of the most criminally forgotten cars ever. The Gordon Keeble.

other highlights? Seeing the ex Dennis Jenkins E-Type & just being there.

I counted three as well but according to a recent post over in the GK owners' topic, there may have been four.

Next month's Classic & Sports Car magazine has a feature on Gordon-Keeble.

There was a 4th in the pits spotted by my friends from the Wessex Car Club.
