That's what I'll be doing next year. Surely us loyal members should be the ones getting a benefit not those that sit on the fence.

Can you just turn up to the test days as a 'normal' spectator and stroll around?
Is there any charge? Would the 10th March date be busier as it is closer to the event?

Thanks
Steve
Open to anyone as is most days at the circuit however they had security getting very protective of being near the chicane at last years testing for some reason and constantly moving people along. Any other track day or Southdowns rally it would not be an issue.

... did we get to the bottom of why they were pointlessly moving people from around the chicane in the end ?? (or was it just a jobsworth ?) - that was at Revival testing if I remember... MM testing last year was FOGGY one morning!

(proper excited for the SD Rally!)

+1. Very strange attitude from GRRC.

I think the term 'own goal' got coined for ideas like this…..

Your absolutely right!! I lose track the amount of days spent on that corner. A bit harder at the moment as I'm up north. I remember waking late panicking I'd missed the morning of MM testing and arrived just as the fog was clearing so a quick lunch in the aero and onto the chicane.

Yeah think it was just jobsworth. I hope.

Those who booked early got a discount on an unlimited number of tickets and entry into a draw to take part in a parade lap.

I'm not sure how much lunch in the Aero Club is worth but I doubt it's as much as I got off my tickets.

Quick question;

How important, or not, is it to book grandstand entrance? It does seem to add considerably to the cost... but is it vital to see the racing or not?

Thanks

Thank you for your comments regarding the complimentary lunch offered to GRRC Member ticket purchasers for the Members’ Meeting between 15 January and 15 February.

We are very keen to reward our Members for their valued and continued support for our events. To this extent, we were able to offer those Members who bought their 73rd Members’ Meeting tickets before 31 December 2014 a discounted rate and an opportunity to purchase an unlimited number of tickets. We were also delighted to offer those booking before that date the chance to win a money-can’t-buy prize – a VIP hot lap at the event.

Although we are unable to continue to offer either of those any longer, we wish to continue to reward our Members for their support. The complimentary lunch offer (at the Aero Club) was put in place to achieve this and make sure that our Members who have not yet purchased tickets, still receive a little thank you from us.

Limited-time offers remain part of our continued policy of rewarding our Members, but we appreciate the feedback.

Good points pablo, well made wink

Might be an idea to remind people which offers/benefits have now expired before advising of new ones. I joined this thread at about page 7 and cba to read all the pages beforehand to dig out anything relevant.

I had forgotten that Ian, in my mind I had wrongly assumed the discount was a 'member's discount' but now you mention it that would be daft because it's a member's meeting... smile

To return to Env's question that got a little bit buried there!

In terms of watching the racing a grandstand ticket is not necessary at all, there are plenty of good spots around the track where you can take your own seat, sit on the grass or just stand and watch.

Opinions vary on whether a grandstand seat is desirable, I think there are even some earlier posts in this thread. In the end it's down to personal factors like your own stamina and your faith that the weekend will be blessed with dry weather. Personally I have never bought a grandstand ticket and haven't regretted it (so far!)

Probably stuck behind an F40 going slow. Was quite disappointing the slow demo runs last year, but meant getting a good photo was easy! Hopefully they will actually be let loose.

I notice Kenny 'Brack' is driving one....would it not make more sense for him to drive the F40 and see who could catch him? wink

Our tickets arrived biggrin But was a bit disappointed as they are cardboard with a bit of white string on them. not enamel like last years and others have.

We had single day tickets last year and had enamel. So not sure why this year some of the tickets are card.

Makes them look very cheap and tacky in comparison to last year and what others will have.
