I just wanted to check, will there be medical staff on hand at 73MM? I'm worried I'll need resuscitating after the grid of Mclaren F1s goes past at full chat.
Unfortunately though Goodwood will know doubt use a cyclist as a pace vehicle.
Don't be daft, they will have listened to feedback from last year and ensure that the pace car is seriously quick. hehe
In that case they will use a McLaren M24 as a pace car........

If it's a safety matter they should find whatever laps Goodwood the fastest at the Revival and ask that to lead the way. Daytona Cobra, GT40 or what have you.
1:18.954 set by Andrew Smith driving a Lola T70 Spyder during the 2010 Whitsun Trophy so an average speed of 109.3 if my maths is correct.

Hi RichB,

No one yet been recruited in the GRRC role just yet.
If they're struggling to recruit I'd best send my CV in....

How's the new job J?

I was just speaking to rich about how I suspect your old job is all paperwork and not the glamorous life we all assumed you lived.

I remembered someone asked a while ago what races are on what days, I now have that information. Obviously qualifying happens on Saturday followed by Gerry Marshall Trophy Part 1, the Taylor Trophy and the Graham Hill Trophy.

Touring cars part 1 - 15min race
Formula juniors - 20min race
GT cars - 60min race

And 3 high speed demo runs on both days.

Hi all,

Just to give you an idea of the changes made to this year's 73rd MM speed demonstrations, compared to last year:

• The cars will not be behind pace-cars at all.
• There will be increased freedom on speed, with the demos run to similar rules as a ‘track day’. That way the cars can give a better impression of what they are capable of.
• Overtaking will be allowed

So good news all round!

Thanks,
Paul.
That's great news. Well done Goodwood.

So what do we think the chances are of seeing the P1 GTR?? Just been thinking about it last year the P1 press car was the course car, this year we are celebrating 20years of the McLaren F1 GTR so wouldn't it be nice to see the new P1 GTR as the course car?

Thanks for posting.

Not a single grid is lacking in quantity OR quality.

Only 2 weeks to go...YAY.

I'm going to need a bigger memory card for the camera.
I have 64gb of cards lined up to see me through each day although last year I stopped taking photos and just soaked up the atmosphere.

Seeing that entry list has tipped me over the edge!

Derek Bell in an F1 GTR!
Actually, Kenny Brack in another F1 GTR made me smile smile
Kenny vs Derek hopefully flat out for a couple of laps of Goodwood.

Actual car enthusiasts talking about car enthusiast things on Pistonheads - I thought I'd never see the day.

Has anyone else noticed the distinct lack of Ferraris on the entry list?

The Mazda 787B on the entry list - does anyone know if that's the Mazda-owned Le Mans Winner or the privately owned 767?
Yes I think I noticed 2 ferraris in total, no 250 GTO's which is a shame as they mention it in the description of the Hill trophy.

As for the Mazda. The 767 was meant to be there last year but wasn't so I assume it will be that one.

Both the Bizza and the Daytona coupe have taken TT honours at the Revival. Was it Pirro in the Bizza when it won?
That's the revival I was thinking at last years MM

I don't think there was a race for pre-66 GTs at last year's MM was there? Certainly nothing which would've permitted the big bangers like Bizzas and Cobras.

The Bizza won the TT Celebration in hands of Hales and Attwood 2003 and 2004.
You are of course correct and I'm getting confused with the members meet and the revival. They all seem like so long ago.

My enamel badge has arrived but, unlike last years, it has a black strand running through the string.

I assume this denotes Young Persons rather than a weird ticket I shouldn't have?
Probably. The only important bit is the QR code on the back.

Interesting that Goodwood are still trying to sell tickets despite the great success of last year, however I half feel it is more the lack of information about what's going on than what the weather of March could bring.

It's also a shame that they are saying "Add the Hill trophy for E-Types, Cobras and GTOs" when there are no GTOs on the entry list???

Strange isn't it. I thought, following last year, word would have got out and it'd sell out.
It's very odd, everyone had mainly positive things to say about the event (and by the sounds of it the few issues people had have been rectified for next weekend) press reviews were very good and the racing was brilliant. But yet there's still a low uptake from members, now I know there are international members and members up north that may not want to make the journey due to having the revival as their "holiday" or maybe it's that no camping is provided?

I still believe from a media/advertising perspective they could do a lot better, for instance some people want to know a programme of events prior to booking tickets to choose which day they wish to attend, now I know there's an argument that people will not buy a programme but I think the majority of people will buy one (and last year didn't they sell out?)

Hello folks, Pablo from Goodwood here.

Thanks for highlighting the inconsistency on the Races page - it had not been updated since a few major announcements... Apologies.

It should now be up to date https://grrc.goodwood.com/members-meeting-73/races

Hope to see lots of you down here next weekend - the build is almost there and medium-term weather forecast looks good, so we are all very excited at the Circuit.

Pablo
Fingers crossed the weather holds and the racing and experience is as good as last year.

Is Ferraris the correct wording? Whilst I know it's saying search for an image and this is what you'll see but to me that could be misleading as the list I have does not have any Ferraris on it for the hill trophy unless that's changed?

"Search for images of the Goodwood Circuit and you’ll soon be met with the sight of a Jaguar E-type, an AC Cobra or a Ferraris locked in battle."

Members meeting = £80 for a day

Fos =£140 for the FOUR days

Revival = Not my era.

It is a no brainer really....
I would say you get a lot more for your money than 4 days at FOS!! But the majority of it wouldn't be "your era"
