My 1st time at the MM on Saturday and I really enjoyed it (aside from aforementioned cold weather!). Love the feel of the meeting, focus on the racing, access to all areas, generally well adhered dress code and the right number of people. Price is fair for the effort that goes in and the fact that they obviously sell far fewer tickets than FOS or revival.

It would be great if it was late April to have a better chance of nicer weather and then still a decent gap to Festival of speed. I am sure there will be other calendar issues but this would be my only main improvement point.

Will definitely be going again next year.

I thought it was a great weekend of racing, highlights of course Nick swift as always really surprised by the one make race as not a Porsche fan. I know it was cold but Saturday seemed really quiet but I was at lava to for a lot of the day. Didn't stay Saturday night for entertainment so can't comment. Only one thing I would change could the refreshment stands sell real coffee instead of cup of hot brown thank you

Stopped going to the revival because of the crowds but really enjoyed my first MM. Lovely event, great access, superb on track action and great number of people there. No queues for bar or food and enjoyed the party afterwards. Hope they keep the numbers limited in the future as that's a definite for me again. Bloody freezing on Saturday though! A real bite to the wind.

Was a good day out. Hard work with a little one (3) and not warm. However it seemed far less commercial than FOS / revival - lunch in the great hall was very reasonable. The full roast dinner for 12 quid was better and cheaper than most pub roast dinners! My son is still talking about the red car that caught fire in the first race...

Dress code seemed quite pointless in March as most were wearing whatever coats they had to survive!

Agreed. And still a lot of riff raff ignoring "blue jeans are strongly discouraged," code including Nick Mason I noted. Lol.

The cabin filled with smoke very quickly, couldn't believe how calm the driver was!

We did the same, just too cold in the wind to hang around.

Ditto Ian, I really wanted to watch the last race on Saturday but we left eh grandstand and retired to the Shell building, still couldn't get warm and left around 6pm for a curry! Missed the evening entertainment and fireworks this year. really enjoyed Sunday as it was a tad warmer and the sun shone a bit. The mixture of cars from pre-1930 racers to the 1970s F1 cars was wonderful. If only the MM could be in September when it's warmer it would be perfect! smile

I'm guilty of taking my motor racing more seriously than most. In fact I'm dedicating as much of my adult life as possible to crossing the globe trying to experience as much of it as I can before I'm either infirm, dead or disinterested.

I had more 'lump in the throat' moments over the weekend than I can recall at any other single event. In fact, at the risk of being theatrical, I was genuinely misty-eyed on more than one occasion.

Seeing Kenny Brack squirming the West McLaren F1 GTR out of Madgwick on his out lap was one of them. In 1995, John Nielsen hammering that very car up the Donington Park pit straight was my first experience of contemporary GT racing as a 12 year old lad. It's a branch of the sport I've adored ever since - and the F1 GTR was always my hero car. Of those on display over the weekend, I think only Andy Bruce's I didn't see in person during its contemporary career; if you count #01R's FoS demo in 1995 as part of its contemporary career...

Andrew Jordan's mesmeric and supremely deft drifting of his 911 through No Name during qualifying was absolutely from the top drawer.

Then there was Nick Padmore's monumental display in the Bruce McLaren Trophy. I always stand at Fordwater for the Whitsun Trophy for it's the most visceral single spectating experience of the Revival weekend. Of course I headed out there yesterday. Padmore was carrying more speed through there, and doing its with such apparent ease, than I can ever recall seeing at Goodwood. It was just the most mesmeric performance and left me utterly spell-bound.

So, for me, the MM hits the mark in so many ways. It's like the Revival but without the theatrics and irritating characters. It's just a truly wonderful event where one can totally indulge oneself in the simple ritual of watching great drivers hammer great cars around a great circuit. True bliss - and forget the cold, that just means greedier engines and even faster lap times.

Can I make a random request, does anyone have an enamel badge from the meeting that I could acquire please?

A friend came with me on the Sunday and just has the card badge. I know they would really like an enamel version as a keepsake and also because randomly the blue on the badge exactly matches the colour of their car...!

Thanks in advance smile
