finally finished sorting my photos from a fantastic sunday.
Absolutely brilliant event, and felt very special, much more so than for example FIA historic masters at brands. Amazing how different the event felt, but I guess thats Goodwoods charm.

All else I will say is thanks for opening it up to non-members. biggrin

Andrew Jordan's mesmeric and supremely deft drifting of his 911 through No Name during qualifying was absolutely from the top drawer.
For us it was Richard Attwood's sublime car control into and through Madgwick in Sunday's race.
Unlike the other "lob it in and see how it goes" exponents his was a consistently smooth style of setting it up before the entry and powering it through on the throttle - no heroics, no drama just bl**dy quick.

All in all as Chevron says unforgettable - thanks the Lord March for yet another triumph.
Till next year, Pewe.

Can I make a random request, does anyone have an enamel badge from the meeting that I could acquire please?

A friend came with me on the Sunday and just has the card badge. I know they would really like an enamel version as a keepsake and also because randomly the blue on the badge exactly matches the colour of their car...!

Thanks in advance smile
I am also interested in getting a metal badge from the weekend if you have one you no longer want.

We where there both Sat and Sun. Stayed until approx halfway through the Graham Hill Trophy race (which was a superb race in a magical atmosphere!) on Sat before leaving - as mentioned it was freezing! (By this time we had already gone to the car once to get some warmth back and pick up gloves.) Even though the weather was cold I was posivitively surprised by how well the 'dress code' was generally adhered. (I suspect a few people caught a cold that day... ) There were one or two oddballs in full Revival-esque 'costume' and of course those who turn up sporting the full fankit package (i.e. Ferrari) jackets, shoes, caps, trousers, rugsacks etc.

I found people very pleasant throughout the weekend. This was my first MM, and when I heard the attendace amount I was expecting more crowding. The amount was just right. I understand Sat sold out, and even then there was no real queing anywhere I was. Although the barrier "driver & friends of driver/punter" is always somewhat present, the event felt unified. I was a little surprised to see there was a "private guests" enclosure and Audi Q7's cheaffuering people around.

The house cup system didn't appeal to me. I commend them for their efforts to make more out of the event, but to be honest the thing comes across as a little bit gimmick-y and halfway done. I understand some of the thought behind it is to make th event more family friendly, but if I may be honest I don't believe this is an event very suited for small children.

The on track action was marvellous, but that you already know all about. The Group C and McLaren F1 GTR demos were probably the biggest surprise, because some of those chaps really drove the cars!

The MM was just about as perfect as it can get for me. One of the best weekends I've had.

Does anyone have any photos of car 26 in the Sopwith Cup (peppermint green A35)? We are an independant team with no sponsors or financial backers. The car was built and race prepared mostly by the owner in his garage in the evenings and at weekends.

After a spirited drive, we finished 5th overall, which we think was pretty good going! Thanks in advance.

Agree with above about crowd numbers.

If Revival has 5 times more people then it holds no appeal to me.

It made me laugh how low the driver was sat (or possibly a tiny person driving)

These are straight from camera and I have a few more very similar once I've actually edited my images I'd be happy to send some across if you want.

Attwood drove a lovely, stealthy race - exactly what you'd expect of the man. The speed Jordan was carrying and his total comfort with the way the car was moving around underneath him was just magic though.

Equally, if anyone has any pictures of car 81 from the Sopwith Cup (grey Ford 100E) I'd be very grateful. I share it with my dad - on this occasion he was driving and finished 13th of 29. Not bad for a 76 year old!

He keeps threatening to give up, and I'm hoping some pics will give him new impetus.

We've owned the car since 1973, when my dad bought it as a write off for £4.50 and turned it into its first incarnation - a stage rally car!

I have one of the 100E #81 on the start/finish straight but it's on a camera that refuses to communicate with this laptop

so not much use to you unfortunately.
