Im having a bit of a dilemma (In a manly way!), whether to dress up on friday or not. My usual 40's ish clothes are a bit tight on me now, too many squats! I have a Indiana Jones outfit a genuine one, not a cheapy fancy-dress but as real as it gets. Now, is this appropriate to wear to Goodwood? I've seen Marilyn Munroe and alike in years gone by so would Indi be appropriate? The dress code is pretty vague just says 20's - 60's. Any help be greatly received? Cheers.

On that basis that you don't own a pair of chinos and a jacket I'd say dressing up as Harrison Ford is a great idea, after all I'm sure there'd have been plenty of folks looking like Crocodile Dundee at many motor racing circuits around the country in the 50s hehe

redface oops I thought you were joking! Come on, how difficult is it? Chinos, shirt, jacket and brown shoes. Stuff a pocket hankie in the top pocket job done.

Its difficult when I got my ticket yesterday and Im going Tomorrow and I don't own a set of chino's! So on that basis, looks like I'm stumped. I'll just dress smart I guess. Leave the dressing up as movie characters to the ladies they seem to get away with it better than us guys.

Ah just thought, you could come as Max Moseley at least there's a motor racing thread!

Hope you did it, OP... Indy would be much better than jeans and shirt. It's a shame to see people not make an effort at the Revival, as that's quite a big part of the experience...

On which point, I noticed that the ratio of dressed up to non is about 50/50 this year - a bit disappointing compared with previous.

I don't dress up and never have but always wear smart clothing. Today I saw batman and stood next to a squirrel and a fox so it seems a few plebs get in. Mind you I would rather have them than the bloke last year strutting about in the nazi uniform!

I wouldn't say 50/50 but it was a lot higher than previous years which was disappointing, however I found those who had made an effort seemed to be of a higher standard this year.
