Just a heads up that membership renewals starts tomorrow, Nov Ist and ends Dec 19 (31st online)..
They've managed to hold the membership fee down to £210.

Actually, although it wasn't announced, you've been able to renew your membership since last Monday.

Also once you've added the renewal to your basket you get access to members' products like March and Kinrara enclosure tickets and chicane grandstand (I haven't ordered any myself so can't guarantee the website will let you!)

Hi just received an invitation to join the the grrc - what discounts do you get on tickets to events?

Thanks

If it's purely discount you are after then the club is probably not for you.

Hi Mark,

you get 15% off up to two entry and grandstand tickets each day at FoS and Revival. You will also be able to purchase 74MM tickets (for the 2016 event) at the 2015 prices until the end of 2015.

As the above post points out.. If it's just discounts you're after, they won't pay for your Membership..

Cheers,
J

James, thanks for the information - I was just interested as the booklet said if you had already ordered you could ask for a refund

No - I'm guessing I share the passion for cars and motorsport (I do compete) that I assume you and the other members have. It was just a general question

Sean, from memory its been 2 years but may have been 3

That's good to know that you have the interest. I didn't want to put the price up as wasn't sure if we were allowed. Personally I think I worked out that the club costs me £50 a year (savings, 2 free tickets to MMS) and for that you get a brilliant club house and members day plus your 2 money can't buy paddock passes which is worth the £50 all day long. (Just to reiterate that the club costs more but with discounts, free tickets and events with a bit of man maths knock it down to £50 in my eyes)

I've been a member for over 10 years now (and have 10 virtually untouched members packs on my shelf) and this year I'm finally making one of the Christmas events - needless to say I'm very excited about it biggrin As for renewals, it always seems a lot until I get my yacht club membership through and then it seems very reasonable!

Me too biggrin Typically, it has come at a time when I've just moved into my first house so I am broke, but I shall make sure I get it sorted somehow smile

I joined in late 2011 IIRC, and just been invited.

Make sure you do. I made the mistake of turning it down 8 years ago when I had moved away forgot about it a bit then had to wait 3-4 years to get another invite.

Sorry to hear your leaving James but hopefully the new job is just as rewarding. Want to put in a word for me to be your successor. laugh

,
The way I read it was that they were going to improve the facilities at FOS and the revival prior to increasing membership numbers?

Just had an email confirming the money has left my account, so I should now be a member for 2015. I'll have to live off of bread and water for the next month, but that should be ok smile

Welcome to the elite, little do people know but the members of the GRRC run the global motoring industry.

I'm all signed up this year, and once again the girls in the office were very helpful, Goodwood are very lucky the staff that they have all over the estate.

Indeed they are, it's fair to say every person I have met or dealt with concerned with Goodwood has been of the highest calibre, they obviously have a great deal of pride in what they do. Now if only the same could be said of their web-site... ! biggrinbiglaughbiggrin

So, have you guys calculated that you'll get payback against your fee (including 1st year's joing fee)or are you in it for the prestige?

How would you calculate payback? You'd need to put a value on having a member's marquee with lockers, decent toilets and somewhere to sit at the Revival, likewise the Lavant Banking and a nice marquee with an uncrowded bar. Being able to book seats in Chicane Grandstand, forward parking at events, invitations to display at the Member's Open Day in August, use of The Kennels clubhouse, occasional free breakfasts in the control tower at BC meets etc. and of course the Members' Meeting in Spring which although last year non-members could purchase tickets for this situation will not remain. Then there's other activities of which I've not personally participated but it's not just down to discount on tickets is it. If you simply viewed it as a way of gaining 10-% or whatever off your tickets you'd not join.
