Best day for Goodwood Festival and Revival

Hi,
Sorry if someone has asked this before but I haven't been to Goodwood before and wondered which day is best to go on. It seems like the most competitive day is Sunday but if I were to go on the Saturday would I miss out on much? Want the best experience for me hd my friends.
Also which one do you guys prefer? Festival of Speed or Revival????
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ok here goes, as a background I have been attending the festival of speed over 20 years and the revival just under 10 years (and having the privilege of access all areas with work for 4 of them) I'm also a member of the GRRC.
Both events you need more than 1 day to see anything so it's worth deciding as a group what you want to see and then you can work out a plan of attack to limit spending a lot of time walking instead of seeing things.
Sunday at FOS to me is the best day as you have the shootout however Friday and Saturday you will have the cars running twice a day. The only other thing day dependant really is the air displays. You also have a lot of people who purely base the day they go on what driver will be attending although it's quite common for the tickets to sell out prior to the full list being published.
I'm growing away from FOS in some ways as I find not much really changes each year. But I will still attend next year.
The revival is extremely busy however if you are prepared to enter into the spirit of the event (as most people do) by dressing up then it truly is a great day out. Plus of course the racing is incredible seeing such old machinery being properly used.
Friday is qualifying with one race at the end of the day then Saturday and Sunday is racing. Some races are split over 2 days but a lot aren't so again this is based on what races you want to see, a list should be published by the new year I'd expect.
So a lot of choice really, I would also say get your tickets by the beginning of May before they sell out.

I did Friday and Sunday at the Revival this year and really missed out on the racing that took place Saturday. Next year will be Saturday and Sunday for me 
I'd agree with the comments about the FOS in that I feel I've done it to death however if you've not been before consider the moving motorshow on the Thur which is a bit different and then one of the weekend days

Personally, having done every FoS bar one since it started, I regret to say I doubt I'll go next year. Various reasons, but I find it just all a bit samey now, limited viewing if you're not in a grandstand, long pauses between runs with nothing happening, too many people who just want to see the new supercars - no one big thing, I just dont seem to enjoy it anymore.
Revival, however, I absolutely love, and the MM is just the best.

Sunday for the revival if you can only make one day - simple for the RAC TT race.
I used to do Friday and Sunday for both events, but due to work commitments can only do the weekends.

Agreed, been going since 1999, you really have to hunt to find something you've not seen before.Revival, however, I absolutely love, and the MM is just the best.
Cathedral paddock I find the most interesting along with Cartier Style et Luxe.
Probably go again next year!
