No its more fun wandering around seeing things from different places and being in the paddocks when cars go in and out.
If you can, I would go on Thurs and then other days, fairly quiet to suss the place out and just get your bearings.
Thanks for the advice, think I'll go for the basic ticket for Saturday or Sunday.
Separate question; I see from the event map that there is a shuttle from Chichester station but no details on the service. Still trying to figure out whether to drive or take the train from the greater London area. Thoughts?

It's an arrive early leave late event, so I would drive but aim between 7-8am arrival and leaving at around 7pm. You get the most out the event and avoid any traffic.

I think driving there and wandering around the car park is part of the fun - some amazing cars in the car parks

The shuttle buses run regularly, but you can be beholden by the trains themselves and the timings etc. One year I did the train and it wasnt too bad at all, though on the Sunday engineering works meant I couldnt get there till later than Id have liked.

Driving is generally fine, the only time Ive ever queued to get out was last year on Sunday, which wasnt helped by people deciding to create 3 or 4 extra lanes around cars in the carpark meaning it was a messy convergence on the exit. Luckily a steward stood in front of one car who tried to drive around everyone queuing.

Must say really enjoy Thursday and don't tend to watch cars on hill that day. Gas usually do 3 or 4 shows no where near as busy as the rest of weekend so good for some photos especially first show. The last few years there have been some cars on the rally stage. Still good day for going around pits and merchandise area

Just announced there is going to be sub-theme of the Worlds Worst F1 cars which is something I've been looking forward to for a long time. The Life is going to try and make it up the hill again & will be joined by Token, Lec, Amon, Minardi, Coloni, March 6 wheeler, Simtek and Pacific chassis.

Can't wait. rofl

The McLaren would not even get to start time...
Did not realise Lec had anything to do with Formula one- they were based in Bognor when I was growing up

The LEC-Cosworth debuted at last year's FOS. It was 6th fastest in the shoot-out (49.81s)

Got to be honest, I was surprised to see that on the list. As far as I can make out it wasn't that bad a car.

Not when there are Eurobruns, AGS, Andrea Modas, Tecno's, the odd BRM & the occasional Ligier.

And lets face it, some of the big boys aren't exactly immune from making the odd clunker...

Will be good to see 2 running up the hill together this year.

However I'm holding off buying tickets as I start a new job at the beginning of June and until I know the roster I won't click buy so looks like a PH ticket purchase.

Coming for the 4 days, have booked a Snoozebox package based at the racecourse, great deals available. Looking forward to blasting up the hill on the Thursday, last year took a new M4 and an Aston from the moving motorshow.
