I have no problem with amateur drivers being in the Revival. Neither do I have a problem with celeb drivers. Only that they're reasonably capable. Surely the point, after all, is to provide a spectacle? Not just provide millionaires with a day out. Theo has only been driving competitively for just a few months, and has been woefully slow.

He has quite openly stated that he started racing this year with the specific aim of getting into the Revival. Which gives the impression that it wasn't competing that drew him to Revival but the status of competing. Two very different things.

If slow but rich drivers is the entry qualification then the Revival is doomed!

(escrobin: you're going to have your work cut out in the Lavant Cup if you're in an A40!)

I think that's fair comment but some of them will get hooked and turn into reasonably decent drivers. I remember Rowan Atkinson 15 years ago, seemed a laugh, however he's a consistent racing driver now. I guess everyone has to start somewhere.

There was a move to make it a National A event needing a National A or higher licence (10+ events) I don't am not sure it happened but it arguably should given for some of the races (and it may be a requirement of the SRs). Having raced there a few years ago there is a considerable talent differential in some of the fields! Some are tantamount to mobile chicanes and there are some very quick peddlers too. Some of the fun is watching the quick guys pick their way through the traffic and the impact it has on the race order.

Supplementary Regulations. Regulations that normally apply to a specific class, or might change a regulation for a particular race in the day but not all. So for instance the TT could have a requirement to have International Competition Licence holders only...

Not that I really care one way or the other, but who the **** is Theo? Is he some reality star that I have had the good fortune to miss seeing on some crap ITV Saturday night show?

Not that this nullifies the lack of talent / experience debate but isn't prosthesis doing this for charity?

There really is nothing to debate. The race he's in is a pro-am/celebrity race, the guy wants to do it, and he will add to the entertainment. Why are people even discussing this? If any one of us had some spare cash and an invite from Charles we would be there like a shot. Good luck to the chap.
