Ian, out of interest, does your membership card have a magnetic strip? Mine doesn't. Just curious because if not it's hard to see what the issue could be.

Yes, there is a magnetic strip on mine. Perhaps the newest one's are "chip and pin" or even "touch and go" (or whatever the latest system is). Not that you need it much, I can only remember using mine once.

Mine has a magnetic strip and the front of the card had completely disappeared after about 2 months of not moving in my wallet frown

It's bordering on a farce now......specifically sorted the issue being that GRRC office had screwed up the renewal by installing a new computer system with a low IQ, and STILL 9 days after making an extraordinary payment and after 7 days since the pack was being 'put in the post', I await my renewal pack.

Anyone else think the GRRC has gone downhill since James McNaughton left...?

I am afraid that I agree. I chased last week having ten days previously been told that all packs were being dispatched with a 5 day delivery. The latest reason for a further delay was evidently a printing error. Again, evidently an email had been sent to members advising of the further delay though I haven't received that email.
It really is now very poor exacerbated by poor communication.
Please someone from Goodwood at least acknowledge the issues and reassure.us A little care and attention towards members would be welcome.

It hasn't helped having a very brief leadership in between but I feel it's better since James left and judging by those I've spoken to I think I'm not alone. Once there's a steady state I hope for it to improve certainly when I spoke to our new leader he was very keen to improve the packs delivery date for next year (and this was prior to anyone receiving a pack)
