Mine didn't arrive yesterday so hopefully they will be there for me today. I contacted them yesterday but didn't get a reply.

The drives are for you and your guest, but if the times are spread out no reason why you can't do them both wink
I thought as much, both are at the same time. I don't see them on the event map so cant have that many cars going. I'd have liked a trip up in the WRX, but will have to settle on the BRZ
they will be in the moving motorshow "tent" so not necessarily on the map in the "open" area...

OP: Are you sure it isn't just a matter of you test driving something on the hill? If that's the case then you will not be allowed to go at a fast pace. I don't want to put a downer on it but also it wouldn't be nice for you to expect to do some quick driving when in reality it could be at a more leisurely pace.

As above, not all manufacturers take part in the outside display area and likewise not all take part in the Moving Motor Show.

The outside display area has shrunk this year, looks like Seat, Skoda, Peugeot and Ctroen have all dropped out of the show which is a shame.

I'm not expecting a full fat test drive up the hill (as awesome as that'd be) and have resigned to just a basic test. I think they use the wording "entitles you to one time slot to drive the Hill Climb with one of our Hill Climb instructors" rather generously. Still free tickets and a test up the hill is better than nothing biggrin

Just packing for both eventualities in weather and realising if I take it all I'm going to be like a pack mule!
What's the situation with being able to go back to the car if I leave stuff there but need it later on in the day?

It can be a long walk back to the car depending where you are parked.

You can leave the event and come back in, just keep your ticket with you at all times as they scan you out!

parking for the motor show day is all in A park, south of the event . its around a 15min walk from the start line footbridge going back through the motor show pavilion.
and then maybe a tractor ride to move across the rather huge parking area !!)
so going back to car is possible , but just make your way around the event to be near the start line area if you intend to go to your car .

its a long way if up at the rally stage !!

Take a BMW key and an Audi key, show them at the stands and you can get in for free drinks (non-alcoholic). Try and borrow someone's spare if you can. The Audi one used to be better than the BMW, but I've not been for a few years.

Cheers. Hopefully I'll just dump some stuff in the car and not need it.

Please forgive a related question from another newbie (this isn't an attempted thread hijack!)...what should you wear/bring? I'm off to FoS on Saturday and was planning to wear jeans, walking-type boots (comfy, mud proof), polo shirt, etc. Is that the norm, or do folks dress more smartly? Anything else I should think about bringing (binoculars, something to sit on, etc?)?

FoS is a mix of everything. Some people wear full 3 piece suits. If it's hot then shorts and flip flops is also fine.

Casual is fine , although smart (chinos , shirt etc ) more in order for hospitality pavilions .
No need for a carry chair or binos .
A lot of walking ,so carry light . Maybe a camera

In previous years there has been an option on Thursday for a cut down programme at a reduced price, but I don't know what is in that as I've always bought the full thing. This year they are pitching Thursday as the opening day, for the first time, so I suspect that option may not be available now.
I was wrong, there was again a Moving Motorshow programme for £5 (in addition to the full size FoS programme at £18). Can anyone tell me what you get for your fiver?
