Quietest I've ever known it here, up at the last viewing point and literally nobody else here. Virtually had the supercar paddock to myself at 7am this morning.
A warning for those that like to walk up the paddock side of the hill, it just stops at crossing point 8, very frustrating! Had to walk back down and up the exhibitor side to the top.

Just heard from a friend trying to get into a car park for the last hour. The main tracks through the car park are a mess.
They were last night when I left. The path from car park B last night was a mud pit. I hate to think what it's like this morning after another several thousand people have walked over it. I guess it's to much to expect the organisers to put down chippings to make things easier. After all they only make several million from the event.
I don't have a 4x4 so I won't be going today.

Arrrgh! I'm in turmoil on this one! I only have a front wheel drive car, and was planning to come on Sunday with my two young children. I don't fancy dragging them through mud all day, only to get stuck on the way out, when they are tired and cranky, with a long drive home ahead of them.
Decisions decisions.
Decisions decisions.

You're not going because of a bit of mud? They were last night when I left. The path from car park B last night was a mud pit. Polite Request.
Please could all you lucky gentlemen who have these zombie apocalypse spec 4 x 4s that they can take instead of their low ground clearance sports cars remember that some of us only have low clearance sport cars and resist the temptation to give it the beans across the car park fields like they are being chased by hordes of flesh eating Russia fans.
The easier everyone takes it, the longer the fields will last and the more likely it will be that The Toad won't be burning out his clutch, up to uprights in swamp.
Thank you. h
This made me cry with laughter! Put at the simplest, it's pretty muddy in places but not too bad overall. Car parks functioning.
What's made a real mess (as someone said yesterday) is muppets driving golf carts through the mud and then onto the hard pedestrian walkways - plastering them with mud.
Overall review? Whoever called it the "Goodwood Festival of Greed" was about right. As ever, the secret of success is to arrive early.

Just got back, parked in the first car park as you come down past the horse circuit.
Conditions are fine, no problems at all there, do not let it put you off coming or not bringing a RWD car! (We followed in and parked next to a Gallardo)
There is some churned up mud in the top corner, but this is fenced off now anyway.

Got back a little while ago.
We parked in the Goodwood Members club car park.
Was muddy on the main sections through the carpark, very muddy, we took our 4 x 4 so had no problems but the guy in front of us got stuck.
Parking areas were fine where the grass was still intact.
Its been hot and windy this afternoon and its much drier now and its much more solid and any really boggy areas are now roped / coned off.
If we have no more rain overnight it'll be fine tomorrow for a 2WD drive car.

In hotel, back in the morning. To retirate what's been said above - it's been lovely and hot all day, it's a bit muddy and your shoes will get mucky but it really is fine. To be honest if it hadn't been so good the past few years I doubt you'd notice it.
Car park was no different to any of the other thousand events on in Britain every summer where cars park in a field.
Use common sense, spare shoes and socks, don't drive like a pillock and it's fine.
