Thanks for this thread, I was going to take the Porsche down but looks like I'll be hopping in the Defender instead. I'm going down alone, so if anyone wants to say hello please do! Just send me a PM, or look out for a muddy defender smile

I'm to the south of Chichester and the rain/thunder storms have started already so am hoping it comes through tonight rather than tomorrow!

Looking at this thread and the Glastonbury mud pics, the old v8 rangy it is for the morning. Is this a Performance car given the conditions?

Not sure your average Lambo is a mud plugger??

I rode round the car parks earlier and they were dry and firm however it's just started raining (thunder and lightning)

Polite Request.

Please could all you lucky gentlemen who have these zombie apocalypse spec 4 x 4s that they can take instead of their low ground clearance sports cars remember that some of us only have low clearance sport cars and resist the temptation to give it the beans across the car park fields like they are being chased by hordes of flesh eating Russia fans.

The easier everyone takes it, the longer the fields will last and the more likely it will be that The Toad won't be burning out his clutch, up to uprights in swamp.

Thank you. smilesmilesmileh

Just arrived. Not too bad now but getting out could be fun if the forecast rain arrives!

Couple for firsts for Goodwood though. Clearly organised ticket touts asking for any spare for latter on in the weekend and Buddist Monks asking if we'd like to buy a book on mediation!

I'm there for the day tomorrow(Friday) but travelling today and staying nearby, having a real wobble about using the TVR, i've been before but never when the fields are wet,how bad is the mud likely to be?Is it a recipe for disaster?

Cheers

I'm similarly concerned - do I bring, as planned, my Caterham, or the Beemer?

ETA - just spoken to Goodwood, and no car parks closed as yet, though they were advising bringing the sensible car. Maybe worth getting some feedback later on when further rain and usage have had their effect.

I am really concerned about coming down to camp at Goodwood tomorrow afternoon - I can bring a 4x4 so that's ok, but someone posted on twitter that campsite H is in a mess. Can anyone help as to ground conditions on the camp sites?

Thanks

I've just come home. Cars parks are pretty much a quagmire already, there seemed to be a double decker bus stuck in the mud (what it was doing there I have no idea), and so after a long long queue down Kennel Hill iI turned around at the entrance and left. The MMS doesn't interest me THAT much! Luckily I live reasonably locally.

I'm not attending this year but the old man is there in my place. We've been going 20 years and he's never seen so much mud he's just said.

We're in campsite E from this afternoon. Apparently it's been a bit wet, and people are driving to the toilet block rather than walk.

This is not helpful.

The sensible car has 265/35's on the back, an open diff and is a slush-o-matic.

I suspect I'm getting in tonight. I don't know if I'm getting out on Sunday.

I think the weather is meant to be quite nice tomorrow, so hopefully it will dry things out for the weekend. Keeping an eye on this as well!

I'm going on Saturday , any updates on Car Park conditions will be well received.

I have emailed Goodwood Ticket office to ask (Not sure if they will know)

I hope it isn't raining , been going since 2012 and its been Nice everytime!

They often say Lord March has a direct line to whoever controls the weather , so this year will be a good test for him!
