I've just been given tickets for tmw. Is there any option for parking nearby (ish) and walking in to the site rather than using car parks.

What's the GRRC forward parking like?

Sod it, I'm taking the Vantage.
Life's too short to worry about some mud.

Probably better than Joe Public in terms of condition of ground but you still have to drive across car parks to get to the GRRC bit near the entrances so all in all in the same boat.

It's your call, but I would seriously think twice about that. We were there yesterday at 8am and as we pulled into the main flat level car park ( the one where you walk through the golf course to enter) there was a new Mercedes E class absolutely stuck up having just driven slightly off the access road onto the muddy grass and was sat there going nowhere.
I chose to use my wife's X5 rather than the Ferrari after watching the weather forecast and very glad I did, I think I might still be sat there right now.

The photo below is in the grounds, immediately next to the Jaguar Land Rover stand, this shows the way that the mud has spread over the metal walkways, this isn't the worst of it by a long way.

I hope this helps give the least some idea of what it was like, sorry didn't take any other pictures of the mud.

It's a bright sunny day today at Goodwood! The campsite is still an absolute mess (not sure how or if we'll get out) but the event is so much better mud-wise than yesterday. The vast majority of walkways are fine, but the grassed areas are still either muddy or, at best, very moist. Sorry, can't comment on the car parks.

No issues for me with mud as my mate took me in this (although cloud tried to ruin our day!)

It was fine there today, no problem at all. It's was dry, and sunny virtually all day!

Don't think I'm going to risk the fun car tomorrow, can't see a problem getting in, but looking at the forecast heavy showers are due tomorrow afternoon, so thinking there might be trouble getting out!

Be careful marshals don't send you into the field entrance on the hill like this morning. Entrance was very muddy this morning but by midday was fine. Regular car parks looked good too as had a quick look see as I'm struggling to find performance parking for tomorrow. Anyone got spare I will come get tonight smile

4P wasn't too bad today - I was baulked by a 4x4 going uphill in the morning and wondered if I'd kept enough traction.

Relatively OK to get out - left our stand at 6.30pm and in the Hilton Avisford Park by 7.25pm smile

This was what one little corner was like at 9am - it was almost dry at 5.30! The rest of the field was perfect, no mud and was full of clean supercars! This is the one by the racecourse btw.

Wasn't sure if the Beemer was parked or stuck biglaugh

My Audi left as clean as it drove in.

Aside from having to pussyfoot around the odd bump I could have brought any car. The traffic in and out on the other hand......not sure either of my more exciting cars would have enjoyed the clutch burn and moving at snails pace. So glad I didn't bother. But if it's car park Anson you are worried about, don't.

That 1M looked stuck but it was in the only bit of soft mud I saw all day!

There was a 599 GTO - who was allowed to park at the bottom of the hill near the entrance of the car park I was in - and it looked like it had just rolled off the production line.

If there's no rain tonight, tomorrow could be ideal conditions. There's very little dust, plenty of grass, just several entrance / exits closed as they were torn up on Thursday so the traffic is next level.

Both in and out. Puts me off going again. More time in the car queuing than I spent there. Chaos.

My Macan struggled badly on the way in this morning downhill, the ground was sodden and there was little grip

By the time I left it was much better

Take wellies btw, the place is full of wet mud
