Has anyone seen any list of the traders in the " over the road " area for this year Revival meeting ? It's worth going to those even if you're not going into the event .?

I hope the " well paying " traders are aware of this as I suspect it could seriously affect the wandering footfall with money to spend not marching pass them to get into the event .

Having previously been on over the road for 3 revivals with work I can say that the big purchases are made by those with tickets from what I've experienced.

I've been on the Saturday to over the road and spent a fair bit of time ... And money with various purchases and then returned on the Sunday purely to enjoy the event without distraction or packages to carry . That's worked well for me
Seemingly previously .

Sadly though the council have implied that Goodwood restrict the numbers, the over the road was always meant tot be for ticket holders it just was never enforced until now.

But the event was never meant for those without a ticket and the road infrastructure was buckling without the extra punters going for a cheap/free day out at over the road.

Does it matter if it were? If lots of people visiting didn't buy breakfast then I'm sure Goodwood would start charging or not running the event. After all they are a business.

I've been to every revival from day one .
This year we had a family party of six two who travelled from Norfolk had never been before . They were amazed by the event we had no problems with traffic leaving guildford 07 am in the car park at 08 am . We always take our own picnic part of the day out which means no queues .
Every part was enjoyed by all but we agreed that 2016 we will go purely to enjoy the revival car park and the over the road as there is so much there and the screens keep you more than informed .
We left at 1800 no problem getting out of the car park and were hack in guildford at 1900.
Maybe we were lucky , but planning your day can help ?.

Luckily we four are all paid up and looking foreward to the Sunday this year so end of but will be interesting to hear eventually from three different stall holders I know if any possible reduced foot fall affects their takings . Hopeful all well for them .

It's an odd one though big events like that I'm sure it's a tax dodge or something as I don't know many people who go to Goodwood events that end up buying half of what is on offer. The proper stalls that have interest and seem to make big sales are all inside the circuit. As previously mentioned I've done the over the road for a few years with work and it really is quiet as a trader for sales compared to other shows we would attend of a similar theme.

Disagree about the road infrastructure problem. Turn up at midday / early afternoon on Saturday and you drive straight in, no queueing, spend a couple of hours there, then go home.

If you have spent money on a ticket you feel obliged to turn up early and leave late, to get your money's worth, which will add to the traffic problem, not reduce it.

Could any of the early guard who've arrived on Friday comment on whether there are ticket checks between Over the Road and the car park?

ie if you were arriving in Car Park B or the pre 74 classic car park, is there anyone checking event tickets before you arrive at one of the main pedestrian entrances to the circuit (the bridge from OTR or the main pedestrian entrance, shown as gate 2 on here https://www.goodwood.com/flagship-events/goodwood-...
