So the tunnel has had a partial roof put over it since the events of March, and now the disabled viewing area has prison bars.

A car ended up in the tunnel at the members meeting.

Not too intrusive that way it's been done.

A good job by the look of it, I don't want a racing car on my head, thanks very much.

Mind you, the same collision, in same place, could easily dump a car on the other side of the track and squash lots of people. Perhaps the track should be lined with high & strong catch fencing, like Le Mans.

It begs the question do you go for 100% safety and ruin the experience or stay with the disclaimer on your ticket: "Motorsport is dangerous"

looks good, does feel weirdly exposed a bit at that section though.... maybe they should've built up the bank to the level of the disabled area wall... if that makes sense...

The thing is they're accidents, take the Nurburgring for example, despite crash fencing a car still ended up the other side. The wheel that landed in that area during the crash from memory was higher than that fencing.

Raising the earth bank would have made no difference on that occasion. The car flew about 10' in the air before coming to rest upside down over the tunnel, the wheel flew even higher. As Robin says Goodwood has a good record and accidents do happen.
