Hi All,

Will be going to the Goodwood Revival on Sunday. Info says that parking is grass and may not be suitable for low slung cars.

I have a Porsche Cayman S with PASM so 10mm lower than standard. Is this too low for the grass parking? How do others get on with parking Caymans / other low slung cars?

Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks for the welcome Lynchie999.
Don't get much free time so generally lurk on this forum. Wife says I spent too much time on the PC as it is! :-)

well, your average post count is now once every 5 years!

enjoy the revival, i think it is mostly going to be dry... so the fields should be OK...

If it stays dry it won't be a problem with wet deep ruts for us " low dwellers " it will be a case of finding the car on return as they all adopt a greyish dust .

Agree that you'll be fine if its dry... my only comment would be to be careful going on/off the metal roadways if there are any - they can be quite high. You see loads of low cars there including exotica (at least you do in the forward parking!).

Gordon Murray manages to park his McLaren F1 prototype in the field so you should have no issues. Enjoy the event.

I had an F355 and drove it through the mud many times at Goodwood at one point going along like a paddle steamer with a tide line hehehe
I think the Cayman will be OK

And badly put down.

I drove off the end of one very slowly and cracked 2 exhaust manifolds on my E type. Goodwood didn't have the manners to reply to my email about it.

It just so happens that on "the wet one" I left the car park behind, of all things, a 918 Spyder (German registered). He had a wee bit too much power for the conditions - at one point he was sideways (no exaggeration) although he had 2 wheels on mud, and 2 on grass, which didn't help.
