Saturday at Revival, Raining today

Yet to rise from the tent but I guess it's rained a little overnight and the forecast looks horrible today until 6.

Any tips from those who have visited before about how best to manage the rain if it comes? Pretty much everything apart from a couple of shops looks uncovered.

Edit: damn sorry missed out of the title, I'm referring to Saturday at Goodwood.

Make your way to the inner paddock area as there is a little shelter around that part the sheds are good to look in . I hope the weather improves for everyone today we are there tomorrow so hoping for a drier day 🏎

It's rained a lot in the past!
One year we brought seats and then used a huge golf umbrella to deflect wind and rain.
A couple of years ago a blanket became a rain cover for the remainder of the TT race onwards.

These days, goretex is my friend.

I'm there tomorrow.

I'm here today and luckily we've got grandstand tickets as it's pouring down.
Makes for some spectacular racing, though.

It was almost 1999 wet at times! Still enjoyed it though, and Whitsun Trophy was very entertaining from where we watched it "out the back". There was a lot of people looking very soggy...

/\ This. Although I've been to the Revival many many many times I've never been on a wet day and I have to say that the racing on a wet track made a change for me .

I arrived early, witnessed the Mustang taking off on the dawn patrol and wondered around the paddocks until the start of the racing - all in the dry.
Watched the first race (lap 1 of race 1 and the rain started ) from Woodcote
and the prevailing wind ensured that the fine light rain tested my 1960's Merchant Navy
mackintosh's excellent waterproof abilities .
But once round the Fordwater, No Name, St. Mary's side of the circuit, the trees gave shelter from the drifting fine rain and it was not unpleasant.
The rain was not continuous and only started again every time my son got his camera out .

The other plus was that because the BBMF etc. didn't fly (although I always like to see them) it meant that the Sterile Zones never became an issue.

My son said that it reminded him of summer music festivals!

I'd have preferred it dry but I still very much enjoyed the day.

Yeah, it rained all day. But I only had a one day ticket. So I spent pretty much the whole day there.

Plenty of empty seats in the grandstands at Lavant, yet the organisers had no system for allowing spectators to "pay on the day". They could have made a killing.

Even better! I did ask, but no chance. They did bring forward many events, partly because the air displays were'nt possible I suppose -but it did mean we could all leave a little earlier. I had to dress part period/part modern the next day because my tan 1960s trousers were f*cked. Not Lord March's fault.
