2022 Goodwood FOS virgin
Discussion
As a FoS virgin could any of you veterans please suggest a good central place to meet two sets of friends. They’ll be travelling from the north and parking in the free car parks. I’m parking in the eastern performance car area. Somewhere central would be ideal - and I’m assuming things won’t have changed too much from pre-Covid times.
I'd definitely go for the base of the sculpture as it can be seen from a distance and can't be confused with anything else. It sits right in front of Goodwood House. The only downside is that you will walk past a whole load of stuff before getting there.
I went yesterday, Thursday, and it was very busy for what is traditionally the quietest day. Try to get to the car park at about 7.30-8am, if not earlier, to avoid the queues on the narrow lanes that lead you there.

In terms of food/shopping - theres a few supermarkets a couple of miles out, however getting in/out of the site can take quite a while so id take as much as you can to avoid having to head out. If you head towards Chichester there is a Sainsburys on one of the main roundabouts - from memory it'd take about 10 mins to drive there on a normal day
There's also a Lidl close by - a couple of hundred yards from Sainsbury's. There is a big Tesco but the other side of Chichester.

Cheers for the reply. The sculpture it is then. I’m planning on getting to the car park at 6.30. That means a 4.30am set off time but I’m hoping it’ll be worth it to beat the jams. Red Arrows was the most boring part of the day. Pointless. I assume the Shoreham crash meant all acrobatics have to be dumbed-down and moved away from the crowds these days?
Fantastic display right over our heads at Molecombe…Last time I went a solitary Typhoon on afterburners was being chucked around right overhead, totally epic.
This is why I arrive for 7am, bliss (it was getting on for 8am when I took these)
