Thanks Sarah. I'll give them a call, I can't remember what I selected.
Has the schedule been released yet?

Worth keeping an eye on the BARC website too as they will publish entry lists, final instructions and other event documents which people like me find interesting….

I’m hoping the ferret racing is as competitive as 2022…. The silver surfer was on great form all day.

Bar, burgers, ferrets and duck herding, Lavant is where the action is.

Hearing the cars testing on this rather wet Tuesday reminds me that I meant to make any visitors aware of two significant and necessary road closures for those coming from the North and East.

The first is the A29 at Pulborough, the final downhill bit through 100 yards of woodland where a landslip at the end of last year still hasn't been resolved and has resulted in the road's closure. There is a diversion around that area, but it is via side roads so not very rapid.

The second is the A286 and A272 through the centre of Midhurst where a recent fire has destroyed the Angel hotel and adjacent buildings in the middle of the town and has resulted in the total closure of the road as the hotel's unsupported frontage survives but in a dangerous condition. The country lanes around the town are the only way of diversion, but aren't well signposted at the moment and result in confrontations on very narrow roads which are also potholed.

So the only ways around are either by Storrington, which is a bit of a bottle neck anyway, Petworth which is the same, or Petersfield which would be the ideal way from the north, followed by a nice drive through the Chilgrove valley to Lavant. I will update closer to the race date if the situation changes.

If you're travelling down the A3 and normally come off around Haslemere to head down to Midhurst it would be best to stay on the A3 and head down to Petersfield and cut accross

The update yesterday was 6 weeks (i.e. middle of May).

Avoid the area as far out to the west or east as possible, A3 or A285. Whatever you do, don't use satnav or you'll quite likely spend your morning reversing along country lanes.

According to the circuit diary the site is closed from Wednesday to Friday, so I'd imagine not unless you made separate arrangements.

It may be easier to phone the ticket office and ask?

Hi,
Has anyone got a spare weekend or Saturday ticket for an adult. I’m a member but have another guest who can now make it if possible.

Thanks Craig

I think Sarah's just posted in the FB groups, there seem to be quite a few going in the Members/Fellowship group but they aren't being cross-posted, so she's going to try and match people up if they email her.

Yes I was going to say there are tickets coming up in the Fellowship FB group, wasn't sure if full members had access to that one.

Hello all,
I am indeed offering a matchmaking service for GRRC members and fellows who are selling 80MM tickets and passes with those looking for them - if you are in either category, please do email me!

I live in the middle of Midhurst - the road will not be open for the weekend of the MM. Petworth or Petersfield are the only viable routes to take from the A3.

Sunday is about to sell out, if anyone is still on the fence about buying a ticket.

Hopefully them leaving the fields untouched will pay off with regards to parking, large parts of the grassy car parking at Castle Combe were a complete bog yesterday (they had a big event the week before).

I was at Castle Combe the week before for the Action Day. That may be why it was boggy from all the cars on display.

I’m wondering about the parking too as it’s been very wet and more rain forecast for Friday. Maybe Sarah could tell us whether it’s likely we’ll be parking at the race course and be bussed?

That would be about 500 round trips, so I'm guessing unlikely! FoS was incredibly boggy a few years back but things just about held up even over 4 days.
