I thought similar - then realised they’d let me in in my TVR (although it’ll smoke most ‘supercars’ of its time) ???????
The RS6 was a bit of a p155 take though ??
RS6 and a current Gen Ford mustang. Interesting You don't think a Dodge Viper is a Supercar, they have smashed ring records, awesome racing history, accepted at Beaulieu Supercar weekends, accepted by Supercars of Essex car club, Drivers Union Supercar club. Gen 5 viper T/A smashed every circuit track record in USA Gen IV viper took the ring record for a stock production car. But I guess your personal knolege of what defines a Supercar is diffrent to their's. The total production of the hand-built Viper from 1992 to 2017 is under 1 year of Corvette production. The RS6 was a bit of a p155 take though ??
But a supercar is an unobtanium to the majority - something which costs 5 times the average annual wage, and would take a serious level of contemplation around running costs as well.
Nobody hates the Viper - and not many people hate the TVR (at least not whose with any sense or experience of driving one) - but a $55k American muscle car that sh*ts itself every time you show it a corner, and has an interior that came from a cornflake packet, isn’t, in the eyes of most petrol heads, a Supercar, any more than a hand built canoe based body with a walloping great (peachy) straight six in it, is a Supercar.
But neither are anything below a GT1/GT Porsche, Noble M12 GTO’s, Maserati 4200’s, Audi RS6’s, or a raft of other cars that were admitted to the track. It doesn’t make it any less cool
to see them in the flesh. Ultimately, you don’t need or want to try and push your way into the ‘Supercar club’ because there’s a big difference between being a devoted petrol head who puts his life and soul into his awesome cars, and the ‘Supercar club’ which (aside from a few really clued up, passionate people, is mainly populated by complete cocks with more money than interests.

Far too many people at this event now. It’s packed with no end of people wanting to video or tutting if you have the audacity to wander into their pictures.
As others have said, this used to be far nicer - geared at those who liked cars rather than those who like to show off.
They should charge for tickets, and contribute to a charity to keep numbers down.

Charge for tickets? They could pay the exhibitors. As others have said, this used to be far nicer - geared at those who liked cars rather than those who like to show off.

I applied to bring my 992 Turbo S Cab and got a polite no. Fair enough I thought as it’s not really a supercar. But then the day before the event I got another email saying it was accepted. I’d made other plans by then and anyway couldn’t face getting up so early to drive down from London to see cars I can trip over in Knightsbridge. Having been once before (2016) I enjoyed the drive as much as the gathering but I guess I’m getting old. Isn’t 7am a little early on a Sunday?

In the early days it used to be about the drive there and runs out again from the circuit, early to drive on empty roads. Edited by mhh on Monday 15th May 05:38
