Hi all, I am trying to decipher the car parking map for Festival of Speed.

According to the car parking map, it seems the performance car park east is marked as car parks G, L, M & U. (My ticket has a Brown diamond and the brown section on the map states performance parking east). Actually Car park H is also listed but this says campsite as well so I ruled this one out.

Are there really four/five different car parks for performance car parking east?

On my performance car parking ticket it also says Gate 1, however this is not shown on the car park map at all.

On the Goodwood event map, Gate 1 is shown just off New Barn Hill - possibly Car park G?

Can any one shed some light on this, thanks.

Just follow the brown diamond signs once close the Marshalls will direct you to performance parking.

Car Park G via Gate 1 sounds about right.

I think only Car Parks N and G are Performance Parking.

But as Robin says, follow the directions on the road signs and once you get to the correct gate the marshals will know where to send you.

Thanks both, that is really helpful.

Partly the question is about where I will end up so I can direct the others who don't have performance parking.

If I will end up in G, I will send my friend to car park M, which is marked as both brown (performance) and black (public) on the car park map.

I get the follow the colour logic but according to the map that is more than one car park. I think the map needs a little work! :-)

Would it be easier to say meet at the central feature at x time?

Car parking is very fluid on the day, depending on traffic volumes. Typically the entrances to public car parks S and M aren't open early morning, traffic is sent down to A & B until the queues start to build. I think the point of the labels is to give the route rather than the final destination.

I agree with what others have said, Performance Parking West is N (Pink route) and Performance Parking East is G (Brown route).

You're right though, the map needs clarifying. Apart from not marking the specific car parks, the Pink one is incorrectly labelled East.

And I’m pretty sure it was last year and even mentioned it to Goodwood.

I think you're getting confused: The colour groups include different parking types, some of the pink group are for invited guests whereas the brown group includes campsite and public parking as well as performance parking.

The only performance parking car parks are G and N.
