Some cracking images to what has been an enjoyable event again for me! my highlights were the all mini st mary's trophy...lots of wheel banging and mayhem, the fordwater trophy on sat and topping it all the air displays especially the vulcan xh558! although todays display was not quite as good as yesterdays....what an image.
The photo labelled "rear Vanguard" depicts a North American T-6 Harvard.
Girls may have worn nylon stockings at the Revival before, but I don't remember them parading in their underwear. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but it does seem that the event is becoming far more of a mish-mash of perceived images of what the 1950s MIGHT have been like in some alternative universe.

Vultee Vanguard
North American T-6/SNJ/Harvard
Very few Vanguards were ever produced (under 200) and I'm not sure if there are any survivors around at all.
Thousands of Harvards were built and I would guess that at least 100 are still flyable. There are quite a few in the UK - the picture shown being one of them. There is a dark blue one based at Goodwood as well.

They are one of the more affordable (in relative terms) warbirds. They have a very distinctive engine and propellor note.
The distinctive prop note comes from the fact that the blade tips go supersonic.Steve
No one has been able to prove this for sure - buit it is plausible.
Some great photos there. Much better than mine achieved with just a normal compact camera but here are a couple of mine:

Gorgeous Alfa

Lovely Mustang:
The only flying Vulcan strategic bomber:

Stunning Invicta in the paddock:
New Noble - handsome but doesn't look £200k's worth:
Gorgeous and immaculate Gullwing in the pre-66 carpark:
Lovely Ferrari and Maserati pair in the pre-66 carpark:
