Not so much setting meters off but getting someone thinking we have a noisey car on the circuit. It did sound good though; I was at home and caught a glimse of something driving by, but could not recognise it......

Apologies for disturbing the peace Sir... The old girl is a bit agricultural, she gets snotted up with fuel if it’s kept at low revs or throttle openings for too long, starts hunting and jerking on light throttle. Alas, the best cure is to use the cam profile and that's redcard with 107db.

Is noise really the main issue? Or is it a mantra for a group who are against Goodwood and it's events as a whole?

Incidentally, which one of the Roads around the circuit makes the most noise? Because that long straight West towards Lavant is pretty encouraging. Likewise, I'd have thought congestion and road closures around the main events would be of bigger issue than mid-week testing. I'd also guess the Breakfast Club is a bit more of an issue for the residents, what with a few thousand cars all barrelling in for 8am on an otherwise peaceful Sunday.

The ocassional motorcycle travelling from the Kennel Hill roundabout into Lavant at night,
during the Summer month (Tuesday) the Kennel Hill Road down to the A27 which passes the main gate entry point. Today has also attracted a lot of visitors in nice shiney cars with up to 500 visitors attending the British Cycling Federation races held on the circuit today, we have frequent visiting drive outs, Cobra club, VX220 club, Smart car club and Hampshire car club, all very well behaved and a pleasure to see. I don't hear them much or noise from the circuit and aerodrome, I live probably the closest. Mind you I was born (in a house) at the end of a Lightning runway at RAF Binbrook and lived at RAF Waddington and did not hear much then; no I am not deaf either, I just usually shut it all out. As for busy roads I do not travel during the peak times; but know that it usually takes 40 minutes to get into the heart of Chichester during the 9'oclock traffic queues on the weekdays and avoid that journey at weekends.

I'm a regular visitor and also a Member of Goodwood. Apologies if my black Stradale sets of the noise meters (130db in race mode with the valves open)as i regularly drive parallel to the circuit to Lavant. Would help if i knew where the meters are :-)

Being also a very local resident to the circuit (East Broyle)i really don't have that much sympathy with the Summersdale residents association. Admittedly, if the circuit had 105db limit 7 days a week, they'd have something to complain about - but it's not often the circuit noise is intrusive.

The Goodwood estate is something most Chichester residents are EXTREMELY proud of and thanks should be given for all of the extra revenues that local businesses enjoy as a result of Goodwoods activities.

Just my 2p worth (shame they don't put any business our way as we're just down the road from the circuit :-(

I agree, it's our neighbours I feel sorry for on the early Sunday morning what with the strad and my noisy old bargeeek I'm thinking next time we go via Summersdale hehe

Bah humbug, I too live very close to Goodwood and if i could afford it i'd live even closer. My wife's boss lives in summsdale ( not one of the grumpy sods) so i apologise to anyone who i must have irritated whilst visting in the TVR (no cats and very loud). Next time i'll drop round early in the morning.

Personally i'd be out in the garden with a beer enjoying the audible delights smile
