Breakfast club - how easy is it to get breakfast?!

I know the breakfast isnt the main reason for going but this will be my first visit to the breakfast club and will be going with about 10 other hungry lads.

Are you queueing for hours for breakfast and therefore better to eat elsewhere or is it an essential part of the experience?

In my experience it's better to get brekkie somewhere else. There are so may lovely cars to see that queueing for an age for a pig bun seems a bit silly. If you are buying food there remember to remortgage the house first

You will queue for the full breakfast served in the pits area but the caterer is professional, the staff pleasant and efficient. The full breakfast is good organic food from the estate but is a bit pricey. I usually go for the NAAFI wagon which is quick, good quality, bacon or burger in a bun with a cup of your fancy for a few quid. Surely no-one (not even .Mark) can complain about that?
The breakfast club is 'free' so we should support the event by indulging in his lordship's hospitality.

Yes, i made that mistake first time round and had a sit down breakfast, which I classed as of poor fry up quality, and bloody expensive. However I normally have an egg and bacon roll and cup of coffee now, all organic, and very, very tasty.

See you Sunday, the forecast is good - 20 plus degrees!

Oh and remember to arrive early.

I tend to park up and head striaght for the food vans before the main rush happens and take a walk round with a bacon and egg roll before I start looking at the cars in greater detail and taking photos.

I've found that if I don't do this, I get so involved in looking at the cars, before you know it' it's time to leave and you've not eaten anything all morning !

Absolutely! Certainly not complaining. Don't get me wrong, was not having a moan, just pointing out the options

I have been a few times and have never had to wait long for brekky, although it does cost a small fortune! NAFFI wagon is the best bet if you just want a bacon buttie.

I was thinking of going this Sunday. It will be my first to the BC. Can I ask, who decides which cars park on the track and is it possible to get out at anytime?

............the marshalls on the main entrance decide hwo goes where if your car not pre registered for attendance.From recollection last year - If you have a supercar you could register on the official Goodwood website to park trackside,(& effectively static exhibit). Check on the website for more info.

Yes you can escape though if packed you may need to find a marshall if leaving between say 8.30 & 10.30 am

They usually get it fairly spot on for those just arriving - Marshalls everywhere !

I've always enjoyed the Brekkie Clubs, best thing is to go with the flow, accept the marshals decision, they really have no idea what's arriving, and the weather is very influential... If it's a wet day, then the super cars will be limited, if it's bone dry and sunny, there's hope of some stunning machines. The game plan is diversity, so if the weathers poor and you've got a 'sports/super car' you're in, if it's sunny and the super/hyper cars are about... You're up in the public car park... Go with the flow.

Basically, they won't fill the main area up with 911's, 348's etc early on a sunny day, they know there's more to come.

People start to leave around 11am-ish (some even before that), but as there are cars still arriving you get to see (and hear) the cars which all adds to the day.

If you're anything like me you end up walking round a couple of times as the cars change through the morning.

I'm really looking forward to this Sunday, just fingers crossed the weather holds out.

I have been going to the Breakfast club for 'years', and I have enjoyed every one. Even the ones with the odd themes that attract highly unusual exhibits (I recall standing admiring a BT truck with a phone pole driller on the back and wondering if I turned left instead of right)! What is great about Breakfast Club, is that it is free to enter, it attracts genuine enthusiasts who enjoy, appreciate and photograph the machinery on show. The marshal's decision on who gets into the paddock and track can be sometimes be mystifying (if you turn up with something interesting), but as already said on here, "go with the flow" and enjoy the morning.
