First time at Goodwood F.O.S this year - we're travelling on Friday, first thing, and camping the night to spend Saturday there too........i don't know the area at all and have found somewhere reasonably near by in Halnaker that we can pitch up for just a few £'s (25 min walk). Any one know the area at all and if so are there many boozers round there? World Cup Quarter final weekend so need to bear that in mind!!!
Cheers!

I've used a place called Red House Farm before. http://rhf.threeharboursbeef.co.uk/rhfcamping/pric...

Its not exactly walking distance, but a nice enough place, nice family who run it. A short drive to the beach, reasonable price in a taxi back from Chichester, it's about 20 minutes drive from Goodwood House.

dont be put off by the camp site not being walking distance to FOS, although this year we are camping on site at goodwood last year we stayed in little hamton at this campsite:http://www.camping-caravaning.co.uk/

it is a family campsite but looking at some of the cars a few other FOS people were there as was a group of people in fancy dress im guessing on a night into bognor

taxi was about £20 each way, and took about 30 mins as it seems local taxis are restricted to 35mph. however i would strongly suggest this as the taxi driver went down some old country roads that only the locals would know and took us direct to a gate(near a pub) without hitting any traffic at all!cool
